Oh yeah, muvver wants me to go to university...guess I got no choice *^_^*.
I'm just looking forward to the parties and discounts and stuff . Oh, there'll be lots of work, but I work my ass off now anyway!
Katsy, for your exam, just revise a bit. Guess I'm saying this a bit late though ...
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Katsy a.k.a. Esti Posted Apr 15, 2000
Yah!
I've found out the exam lasts for 3 lessons. We have this stupid art teacher who is never there for our lessons and then all of a sudden, "You've got an art exam next week!"
Kitty, you didn't watch the eclipse? How could you not? I've written a guide entry on eclipses, since I couldn't find anything on lunar eclipses (the poor things have been forgotten) I'm hoping this will be my break-through guide entry for the approved guide! I only submitted it this evening so I suppose by the summer hols it should have been looked at.
Kitty is into astronomy eh? Did you say you are at Oxford Uni? I love Cambridge so much, one of my brother's went there and loved it. I knew someone who used to go to Oxford. I think they graduated last year.
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Kitty Posted Apr 16, 2000
*Kitty did watch the eclipse, but didn't see the total eclipse (bit of a difference). Kitty has seen a fair few lunar as well as 3 partial solar eclipses (glad you put lunar in your entry too). Kitty is an atmospheric physicist but also has done a year project on space and solar physics (sun spots) and was secretary of Imperial College Astronomical Society for 2 years and Newsletter editor for 1 year... Kitty is now doing a DPhil at Oxford Uni in atmospheric physics.*
*Kitty wishes Katsy luck in her exam and wishes beetles on her art teacher*

Oooh, I like that one!
I've seen two partial solar eclipses, one total lunar and the start of a total lunar (that was 21st January 2000 and then the cloud completely took over.
Mike A saw the total eclipse of the sun!
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Mike A (snowblind) Posted Apr 16, 2000
Saw the total eclipse on a massive screen on Plymouth Hoe. Damned cloud cover
Keep saying total eclipse, it's an Iron Maiden B-side . Got added to the Number Of The Beast album when they reissued their catalogue in 1998.
Maiden seem to have a habit of adding B-sides to albums when they reissue them. Well, they've done it once on at least two albums. Maybe I'm being harsh. I should be grateful (and I am )

Yeah, I lurrrve total eclipses.
Did you get my e-mail on the Skandal connection? Ally calls me a teenybopper for liking them. I don't care.
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Mike A (snowblind) Posted Apr 17, 2000

I still haven't got the confession out of Jeni about it, for goodness sake, everyone says it's her aprt from her. Why doesn't she just admit it????
I've decided I'm a huge Skandal fan BTW. Jeni wants me to be the guitarist for her band, I was playing the guitar so much for the past few days that my hand is aching like hell! Do you ever get that? I've decided I love playing the guitar, and I can't understand why I quit! I can't be bothered to go to lessons, but if I find all my notes I guess I can carry on by myself. We've decided Jeni X and Ally S will write the songs and I've gotta put them to music. I've seen some of the words Jeni's wrote to a song and I have to admit they're really good! It's something about stress (I think)

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 6, 2000
When I used to play real hard, my left hand would ache from all thw stretching about the finger board/neck *^_^*. Now my tuner's acting wierd and I got ezams, so I can't practise as often . But my lessons at school have restarted, so there's some incentive. My guitar teacher's gonna start running a jam session on thursday lunchtimes, and I got tabs for futureal to learn, so i gotta start getting back into shape!
When I heard Marilyn Manson, I almost decided to call myself a fan and sell my soul to satan just work everyone up. Instead, I am a fan of Bathory, and I support rumours that Quorthon ate babies. I have sold my soul to the Germans

I've just decided how much I love playing the guitar, it's just that I can't read off the paper of notes, I have to know it off by heart otherwise I just get confused. I can only play "A Whole New World" from Aladdin and that's starting to get a little bit boring! I've been trying to find other tunes on their, such as Lonestar "amazed" and Britney Spears "(You Drive Me) Crazy", bu not very good. I need to get some tunes going with Jeni's lyrics (and Ally's). Do you write your own songs?
I like Skandal for more than their music
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 6, 2000
Likewise for Marilyn Manson. Sod the music, I only like three of his songs (and I listened to the whole of Antichrist Superstar in one go!), but pretending to a fan of his is great for seeing just who is the tight-assed sonovabitch in your ranks.
The only songs I can play are Sunshine Of Your Love by Cream and Black Knight by Deep Purple. Now don't tell me you haven't heard of these!
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Katsy a.k.a. Esti Posted May 6, 2000
I'm afraid I haven't! I've heard of Deep Purple and that's it. Sorry! Surely there must be some people you haven't heard of in the pop world, i.e. Britney Spears, Billie, Geri Halliwell, A1, Westlife........Which ones of these haven't you heard of?
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 6, 2000
A1.
Cream, are, like, the world's first ever SUPERGROUP! Their album Wheels Of Fire was the first album -ever- to go platinum!
Cream was Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce, who were at the the time the best players of guitar, drums and bass (respectivly). I'd say they still are.
They're an amazing band and if you get an opportunity to hear them then do so! because they are a key point if music history. I wrote a guide entry about them
Cream are a mix of blues, jazz and solid rock, depending on which song you're listening to. Fair deal. Most of the time it's a mixture of all three
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Katsy a.k.a. Esti Posted May 7, 2000
A1 are another boyband, and they lied to us as well. They said that they'd never do ballads cos they're not that sloppy, so how come half of the songs they've released so far been ballads? It's lucky one of my friends from school isn't reading this as she's in love with them......
I'm not into hard rock, only rock and soft rock. Now it's the summer I'll probably be more into rock and pop a lot more, when it's winter I'm more into the slow stuff. That's over for now....

Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 7, 2000
Admittadly, I was scared when I first listened to my Slipknot stufff at 11pm in the dark. Despite what people say, those guys are great and their music is rockin'.
I do get headaches if I listen to too much Marilyn Manson and Slayer, but that shows how hardcore they are and I LOVE THEM!

Katsy a.k.a. Esti Posted May 7, 2000
AND I LOVE SKANDAL! (even though I've forgotten how any of their songs go)

*Kitty likes folk music, choral music and Queen*
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!

Hiya Kitty! Felllow kat!
Queen, they did those really good songs such as "We Will Rock You" and "Don't Wanna Let You Go"? I'm not sure if you've heard of 5ive but they've recently been doing some covers of Queen and they've approved it, they even appeared on the Brit Awards together this year and performed "We Will Rock You" together, and that was really good.
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Mike A (snowblind) Posted May 7, 2000
Yeah, I liked that.
What's choral music, Kitty?
Welcome to the guide, Kitty!
Kitty Posted May 7, 2000
*Kitty reflects on the last choir concert at which Kitty sang... it was Bach's Requiem and Beethoven's Mass in D (or was it the other way round) anyway, it was a 250 strong choir and a full orchestra and was great fun... *
