Ah! There you are.
Have you had a look at any of the games I sent Mike? The only one in that lot that I never played myself was Quake; the rest are role-playing or puzzle solving or both. I think Riven is about the neatest game ever done, except for the game called 9.

Quake is a kick ass game. But I hate boring role playing games.

I enjoy thinking and I've just realised I love Half-life, the best role-playing in the universe.

It all depends on the role you're expected to play, I guess. Or how you're expected to play it. I expect a game to allow me complete freedom of its world, to give me lots of eye candy (neat things to look at), to contain good puzzles that aren't impossible to solve, to be full of good easter eggs, and have a satisfying way to win.
There is a game called 9 that has characters by Steve Tyler of Aerosmith, Cher, Jim Belushi, Christopher Reeve (post accident) and others ... and awesomely weird graphics.

I enjoy games like that as well but with a bit more gore, action, guns blazing stuff. So tell me more about "9".

"9" is actually a rather old game by now -- it came out in 1996. And it's a role-playing game in that there's a plot (Don't be telling me Quake does ); you, the player, are the nephew of Thurston Last, mad inventor and hotel owner, who has recently died. You have inherited his hotel, a rock-and-roll themed place called The Last Resort. What makes it unique and extremely weird is the artwork, which is by rock-album cover painter Mark Ryden.
And there are games inside this game. For example, to get out of the elevator and into the cellar, you have to shoot 50 rats in a sendup of Doom. And I forgot to mention Joe Perry as well as Steven Tyler. Robert de Niro is one of the producers.

Actually, my game-playing has plummeted since I registered here. When I'm on my computer I'm either online, writing email, painting or studying new software. Oh yes, and working. But work involves painting (digitally), so I have the best kind of life, where I like what I do for a living so much that it becomes play.
Do you just play shooting games? Are there any puzzles involved in advancing through Ed Hunter?

No puzzles at all, any dumbo can play. And you find work fun? I hate most work unless it's history.

If you don't like the thing you have to do then it's work. If you like what you do, then it's play AND you get paid for it. Now, _getting_ to that state, that is work.

The time it takes you to think about a post and then answer it, maybe we should call you Slow Hand.
Never heard of Resident Evil -- is it a Brit game? I'm going to try and copy "9" and send it on to Mike A.
Did you have SAT exams too?
