Introduction
I feel it is important to recognize several key things. First, we live in quite a fascinating place, alternating between that which is terrifyingly bizarre and that which is terrifyingly normal. It can be difficult to tell the difference, as anybody who has ever driven in rush hour traffic in Houston, Texas, can tell you. Second, it is important to appreciate the supreme variety that exists in our world and revel in it, rather than try to destroy it or, in the case of Houston rush hour traffic, simply run it off of the road and laugh. This is a frequent problem, but it can be prevented with some effort. Finally, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy needs to be distributed on as wide a basis as possible. This should be done both because it provides valuable information that can be used by virtually everyone, and because of the "Don't Panic" label on the cover. A whole hell of a lot more people need to see that label.
