have just added more to story and am wondering where the hell it's going to, having completely lost the plot. perhaps i should check down the back of the sofa? i seem to lose a lot of stuff back there...

Yeah... sofa's hide all sorts of things. I'm almost scared of ours! But, of course, you could just ignore the fact that you've lost the plot and carry on as normal... that's what I do, at any rate...
Hope you find it soon, anyway! Good luck looking, don't let the sofa swallow you.

oh, if only i'd paid more attention...the sofa did swallow me, but luckily it decided it didn't like the taste of me and spat me back out again. that's the last time i ever go near a sofa anyay!
