My interest in WW2
My Grandfather served in the 9th Medium Regiment RA (8th Buffs). They fought in North West Europe 1944-45, and were equipped with 5.5 inch Howitzers. My Grandfather was in 82nd Battery, and drove the Troop Leader's truck.
My Nan served as a VAD Nurse in Erith Hospital Bunker (Casualty Clearing Station). She lived in Erith and was bombed out during the Baby Blitz in January 1944.
I am writing a history of the 9th Medium Regiment RA, and desperately seek veterans to tell their story before it is too late.
