Which medication are you going on? Effexor works for me. HANG ON, GOSH DARN IT!!! I would say something stronger than that, but I might get in trouble. DARN IT, GIRL!!!!!! Oooh, I used to take effexor... just made me feel sick. Horrible stuff. Glad it's working for you, though.

Well, when did you take it? That makes a BIG difference!! Also, did you eat anything with it? I take mine at night, and eat a small meal with it. But I HAVE to eat something or I feel sick.

Ummm... I don't remember when I took it... I think it was probably in the mornings before school... in which case I didn't always have breakfast because I always woke late and was rushing out the door. Not the smartest thing to do, but meh... My mum didn't like me taking them anyway because she doesn't believe in using drugs to fix mental issues.

Has your mom ever had a mental illness?? I have. I've also taken myself off anti-depressents before. Let me tell you, drugs make a BIG difference. I had to go back to the therapist when I realized that I wanted to kill myself and thought life was pointless. What I realized was that I needed help, and that something was wrong.
It's a shame you had such a bad experience.

No, no she hasn't... but she doesn't approve of taking drugs and it took me forever to convince her to let me have antidepressants, and then she decided I should stop having them, which I didn't mind because taking me off them didn't change my mood at all and just made me feel less sick... I'm thinking some time I should ask her if we can see if I can get prescribed with a different kind, or something... but that requires seeing a doctor, which we all know I am not keen about... but maybe our GP can prescribe me and I won't have to see a psychiatrist...

not a good idea to take drugs but not with a therapist. It's not only medicine that helps... but how long were you on an anti-depressant? Your mom also has no room to talk. She's never had depression, so how can she understand? Plus, I'm sure there are studies out there that explain how the chemicals effect your brain, and about depression/chemicals and stuff.

Ummmm..... I dunno..... a couple of months...
Anyway... my mum's just a bit like that... she thinks that like... our brains are all how they're meant to be, and you shouldn't mess with them with drugs and kinda make yourself into a drug controlled drone... and that anyone's misery is just due to their circumstances... and stuff... or something...

Another thing. You take the word of people like your father over people like us. Of course, I'm not saying your father's opinion is meaningless or anything like that - my point is that, if you'll believe what he says, why won't you believe us?
