h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I used to have lots of pets. At one time I had 1 dog, 2 cats, 3 guniea pigs, 2 rabbits, 1 hamster and a tank of breeding mice. They were a lot of work to look after, so as they died off, I didn't replace them.

The guinea pigs were called, Tyson, Bruno and Rocky (I named the tigers on my old space - A3233576 after them) They were brothers, Rocky was the runt, and also my favourite. I used to take him, huddled under my coat, to meet my son from junior school Son is 17 now, so that was quite a few years ago.

The mice, I used to breed for local pet shop, I handled them from very young age, ideally they were for pets, but I stopped breeding them, when I found out pet shop was selling them as live food.

Sounds like me - I used to have loads of pets.

That pet shop selling your mice is acually illgal they have to be sepecaly farmed.

They did a lot more than that, that was illegal. Been 2 more owners of the pet shop since then, none of them have beed very good. Latest one was barred from selling animals for a while.

I don't really agree with pet shops selling pets. They tend to have no interest in the care and well-being of animals in their shop, only interested in making money from them.

The place near me that has reptiles, snakes, exotic birds, tortoises, stick insects etc. is not what I'd call a pet shop, more a reptile specialist, it looks well run, the reptiles etc. look well cared for, it's an interesting place to visit.

Did you get your geckos/lizards from a shop, specialist or from a friend?

I got my lizards from a specalist, but since I have a teaccher at school which breeds leoard geckos so maby I will get enough from him...

My toes ok now and I'm still not sure how did it But I think it must have been broken.

ohhh I live new PC's mine is realy old but I keep on adding new bits so it is acualy quite good!

Ye its all going to plan, i will get them in the half term so i have time to settle them in. The viv is nealy finished and I know where I will get them.

Hows those new lizards of yours settling in? Can't remember what you said you'd name them.

I googled some images, I think it was the leopard geckos that I liked. When the weather improves a bit. I'll ask partner if we can go there again. Not to buy one, just to look, and watch them. I could wath them for ages, but partner gets bored easily.

Leopard Geckos are very prity and are the easyist lizards to keep so great for a beginer.
