Only time will tell just how thrilled. Silly me forgot to even put something in subject though I was mad about my post getting wiped the first time.
A craving you say? Time to go put on a turtle neck!

Hello my friend,
Finally the campaign draws to an end. Voting has commenced and A5889261 will bring you to the info needed to cast your ballot. It is via email and involves an instant runoff system thats starts off confussing and goes down hill from there
Suffice to say, simply voting Hypatia in the #1 slot takes care of it and you needn't vote on the order of the other candidates unless you choose to.
Though I've had fun during the campaign I do look forward to having more time to chat again once it's over. On the up side it seems all the campaigning has tempted my muse from hiding and I once again feel comfortable about commenting in the AWW.
Thanks Flame, I'll talk to you again soon.

Hello Brad,
It was good to hear from you. You've become a bit of a stranger of late!
Just to let you know that I've cast my vote for Hypatia. I know you've put a lot of work into this. Well done!
Hope everything is well with you.....

Hi Pauline,
Things have been a touch hectic, what with the campaign and lifes little suprises. It's all sorting itself out now, had a nice hike to mellow out a bit and all is looking bright once more.
Thank you so much for your vote. We really have put a lot of effort into this, each and everyone of us doing all we can to achieve victory. Not for victory sake mind you, but with the greater good of the entire sight our prime motivation. It's people like you that make it worth that effort and it is nice to know that you in turn support these efforts as well.
Here it is, 11:13pm and I'm just getting on to type this. I was determined to take a day off from the computer but not without a reply to you. Only time for a quicky though as I've got to get some shut eye, so I'll say goodnight for now, or goodmorning for you I'd guess.
To bad I can't whip you up some breakfast but until they find a way to transport folks like on Star Trek It'll just have to be wish pancakes, eggs, some sausage, toast, a bit of bacon, hashbrowns, fresh squeezed juice and some rich and aromatic coffee. Enjoy

Hi Brad,
It certainly is too bad. The breakfast sounds wonderful.... Yummy!
I'll tell you what I really love for breakfast: a soft boiled egg with little bread soldiers to dip into the yolk. The child is alive in me somewhere!
If our candidate wins the election I hope some of the benefits will relate directly to the AWW. Maybe you can tell me a bit more....
Glad you enjoyed your day off. We all need time away from sitting in front of the screen, just to clear the cobwebs, and to remember there is still life out there.

Won we did, and now as others bask in the glory of victory I will ride off into the sunset in the finest of western traditions, the hired gunman's battle at an end. Now there's naught but whiskey to drink and bar girls to...dance with
The benefits for the site as whole will be tremendous, though it will not be in a dramatic fashion. No, a slower implimentation of policy is the order of the day, change creeping in where needed.
Of course with the chief editer of the UnderGuide as VP and the President herself one of the UG's founders we can hope for more exposure throughout the site as a whole. More exposure means more recognition and more submissions.
I expect there to be an upswing in the miner's ranks as well, though I hope that it is the right kind of crowd that we draw. Somehow I think that we'll find a way to manage that should it become an issue, but through good recruitment policies it should be fine. Of course there's always an open invitation to you my friend, just say the word and it shall become reality post haste. I still keep my fingers crossed that you may have a change of heart
Would you believe I've never eaten (much less cooked) a soft boiled egg? Like blood pudding or steak and kidney pie it's just one of those things I've never had a desire to try. I'll gladly whip some up for you though should the opportunity present itself, complete with little soldiers all at standing at attention for a dip into the yumminess.
Now it's back to check the post election convos so till a bit later. Before I go there's a matter of some import to attend to. Thank you for your support as well as your vote during the election, that really meant a lot, not only the campaign but to me personally

Hi Brad,
It's me again! Glad to hear about the victory, and I do hope there will be some positive changes around the site.
Never had a soft boiled egg? You haven't lived!
What's all this about soon to be a spy? Anything interesting? I promise not to tell.....

Hi Pauline,
I like the idea of the little egg holder cup/base thing, and I'd imagine the tappy-tap of the spoon around the top when opening must take on an almost ritual rythem. But when you get inside it's like opening a tissue after a good blow, all runny and of questionable consistancy
I prefer mine over easy, yolks nice and runny. Buttermilk biskets or toast and you've got the makings of some serious breakfast. I prefer brunch though, a much more civilized time to eat. And served in bed is always a nice touch although there is a very good chance that it may lead to another bought of what worked up such a powerful hunger in the first place. Opps, sounds like I'm up to some naughtiness again
I've decided to shorten Spynxxx to a frendlier and easier to type version a'la Spy. Short and sweet, it remains close enough to the original so as not to confuse my friends and it's more prononceable to new folks. Honestly, I don't think anyone was getting the sphinx connection anyway
As far as changes to the site, that will be slow and well coordinated. Careful thought will be given to the improvement of many areas, all the while consulting with various and sundry researchers as to what we as a whole need to improve.

And a Happy New Year to you as well Pauline
I've been absent since late October due to some personal difficulties, an outline of which I put down as a journal entry. In fact it's only been in the last two weeks that I've made a foray back into h2g2 and that in only the most limited of fashions.
I promise that I will return in full force, but when is proving a bit of a strectch. It's hard to find the focus needed to do justice to my duties as a miner still, and even more difficult to bring myself to express myself to friends.
Other than that, how goes it with you? I ran across a bit of info while attempting some mining about self publication and thought of you. It was contained in the journal of another fine writer here on site and made a lot of sense when looked at. I shall dig up the link and put it here for you as soon as I can back track to it, though I can tell you it comes from the personal space of Deidzoeb. Something to consider at least as you already have a body of work more than worthy of publication.
And with that I shall bid you farewell for the moment. Talk to you soon my friend.

Hi Brad,
Glad to know you are back. I'm very intuitive (natural gift) and I sensed something was very much amiss a long time ago.
Anyway, as for me.... I've joined a writing group - a couple of hours on a Wednesday evening. Last week was the first session, and we just spent time getting to know a bit about each other, and also what we hoped to gain from the class. I believe we will all be writing this week. We seem a pretty diverse group so it should be fun.
I haven't been writing lately but hope these sessions will inspire me.
Would appreciate the link you suggested......
Take care,
Flame

Deidzoeb is a fellow recipient of UG status, my favorite being 'Trailer of the Temptress'. Anyway, the entry may offer some bit of inspiration and you can always ask Deidzoeb about the hows and whys, cost, etc... so it should be of some help.
Sorry but that's about all the effort I can muster for today. Talk to you more when things settle again.

Hello Pauline,
Back from the dead for another round. Yup, same deal as before needed attention but I have 'fixed' the problem for now.
Looking forward to chatting when you pop in, I do miss you.

Hello Brad,
Good to see you back.
Everything is fine here. My first short story is being published soon. The river story - slightly adjusted to suit a sci-fi anthology. I don't spend much time at the site anymore, but I am still writing....
Hope everything is good with you.

Congratulations Pauline, I am so very proud of you! I always knew you'd make it, it was just a matter of time. You must let me know what the name of the book is so I can buy a copy. Does everyone here already know? You should put the news in a journal entry, then it will hit every personal space that has you down on their friends list, quite a few do in case you didn't already know. Believe me, it's hard not to rush straight off to our UG headquarters to shout out the news but I'll not steal your glory.
There will be alot of folks comming by to shake your virtual hand though, every miner who's ever had the privilage of reading you knew this would come, and if they didn't they deserve to be stripped of their title. Wow, I am just thrilled! THRILLED!!!
I am so proud of you

Thanks Brad,
At the moment I have no idea what the book is to be called - but as soon as I hear more I'll let you know. I can't wait to see the finished product!
My writing has always been a bit of a struggle - so as you can imagine I'm as pleased as punch.
