Dream away
Posted May 1, 2000
My team leader has just returned from a journey to Africa. He showed me the photos of Zimbabwe, Naimibie, Botswana and South-Africa. What a beautiful countries they are. I wonder if all the countries down there are that beautiful.
I too want to visit them someday...

Wandering Thoughts
Posted Apr 10, 2000
Such irony
It seems my path is laid out for me
The fact that there is no light along the way
Makes me stumble and almost fall sometimes
And I hope I'm still on the right track
The game I'm playing is not mine
And the rules I sometimes don't understand
Still, I have to go on
Because I'll lose too much if I quit now
My skills, which I have been building since birth
Are pulling me through and keeping me up
When will I be shot down?
Will it always be like this, like an addiction?
Once you start it, you can never drop out
I despise it, I fear it and yet I love it
Only when I'm playing, I feel truly alive
If not, I'm bored, messy and tired
Perhaps melancholic is the right word
For describing my mood right now
Don't know why and no one can tell me
I know it's a messed up world we live in
But it's the only one I got
So the playing is for the best
Even though I know there's not much use in it
Someone once said: "We're Knights in a world
That doesn't know honor anymore."
I guess that means that we do what needs to be done
No one ever said you have to like everything you do
I have to clear my head everytime
My system needs a refresh, or else it's gonna blow
It's getting harder everytime
My battery must be recharged everytime
How much more can I take?
Nevertheless, I know I have to go on
Wouldn't know how to live without it
Such is the path I'm walking on
It's like a drug, I need it to keep going
I'm just stumbling over the non-lit path
Staggering into unknown problems, not knowing
If I'll be able to solve them, able to eliminate them
On the other hand, unknown problems are the best
They make sure I keep my attention where it belongs
They tend to keep the game very alive
If it wasn't for them, the warning shot would be a hit
Life is a game, just like it always has been
Just like it always will be
If you want to win the game, you gotta be good
If you want to be good, you can never stop playing
If you never stop playing, in the end it gets you
Such irony

My first week on H2G2
Posted Mar 15, 2000
Well, that's a story to tell. When I joined h2g2, I didn't really know what to expect.
So I was kind of surprised when I realized how huge it really is. Not to mention the fact
that I was totally lost within five minutes. Although I felt like a little fish in a big sea
at first, I found I was intrigued by this sea very quickly.
That's when the exploration started for me. Having virtual tea parties, playing word games
and having conversations with people I have never met (and possibly will never meet).
By now, it's not as much as being lost, but more like I'm "venturing into places I've never
been before",with the "who's online" popup as a great help. I have to give a big salute
to the one who came up with this.
It's interesting to see who's on h2g2, and then see their homepages. Whenever there's
something interesting going on, you can just jump in, and join the conversation.
If not, there's always links to other pages where you can repeat the proces.
I guess I could say that the little fish has grown up (a bit) .
