Introduction to Lady Iona's page
Updated July 2009:
Iona: island between Ireland and Scotland, with an abbey founded by St. Columba; female for John, in Hebrew, the name of my father; dove, in Hebrew, bird symbolic of peace; and the dove is considered the symbol of the goddess, in some traditions.
I live in the U.S., in a small town in N. California, by myself (and my cat and garden). No television, I read and write (and play computer games!). Have been married, have two gorgeous grown sons, and was a R.C. nun for 12 years. I've lived alone for much of my adult life, with a very rich communal life.
My spiritual quest has occupied much of my time and energy in my life. I am at the age where one could consider me A Crone, hopefully with some of the wisdom that label would imply.
Interests: READING (mysteries, autobiography, psychology, spirituality and religion primarily) - I want to say 'reeling, writhing, and rhythm!' because I love music too.
