Aargh!!!!!
Posted Aug 3, 2000
Ok. Yesterday afternoon, there was a lightning strike in the northern power grid that fed the San Fernando Valley. So the electricity was on, but the traffic lights were blinking. For about 3 hours.
Now, if you've ever been to the south-western valley, you know that the intersection of Ventura and Sepulveda is a bitch. And that the intersection of Sepulveda and Burbank is a double bitch. And that's with lights properly working. Imagine rush hour traffic, hundreds and hundreds of people trying to blast through an intersection with out supervisory traffic lights or even a live person directing traffic. Add to this the exit ramp off the 405 and 101 right in the same area and you have a traffic jam of hellatios proportions.
My regular commute takes 20 minutes or so. Yesterday it took me an hour and a half. I smoked an entire pack of cigarettes in that time.

Holy Mackeral...

Well, at this point, I'm just writing to get rid of the first journal entry, 'cuz it's cluttering up my page. Don't like. Need be gone. Cheezdanish don't need no stinkin' pronouns...
Had a very intersting revelation this weekend. I've decided to go back to school, and get my degree in philosophy. Now, the tricky part. Convincing UCLA to take on a student who's never taken an SAT exam, dropped out of high school halfway through her junior year, and has middle of the road grades. I wonder if they'll give me a scholarship?
Now, for those of you who may think that being a high school dropout who wants to get a dregree in philosophy is contradicting herself, hear me out. The decision for me to leave high school was not one that was based on laziness or poor academic performance, but on the fact that my education was complete as far as I was concerned. I had already learned in my private Jr. high what they were teaching in my public high school. Also, I was disgusted with the tone of the classes, which seemed designed to turn out as many neurotics as possible. I felt that my talents were better suited to the workplace, where I could not only be paid for my time, but would also be contributing to my education by learning real skills, designed to teach me how to be productive and self-reliant.
So, I've decided to keep my acting carreer private for now, (just do community theatre for now, etc. instead of working to "break into" the Hollywood thing...) and study to get a degree in a subject that will challenge me intellectually and socially, as I know my views will be contriversial, and won't make me too many friends.
But it feels good, and I'm looking forward to starting.

No coffee and no sleep make Cheezdanish something something...
Why, oh why, do I have to work at a real estate concern? Why can't I work for something that is involved in show business?
Why? I'll tell you why. Because Show business is the biggest CROCK ever to grace this vale of tears. I don't want to look like a crack whore or Ally McBeal. I don't want to read lines written by some un-educated college drop out beating the drum of ignorance and racism and just plain malevolence.
Grrrrr... Yes, I'm feeling a tad discouraged...
