Sorry 'bout that! Mac went into a coma!!! I only got back on line tonight! It took three and a half hours of tech support to get this far...& I'm not done with tech support yet! I REALLY mucked things up when...

I fell asleep & downloaded ??? who knows what from where! The fellow at tech support said he's sure to win a prize this month for the best story! He'd never heard of sleep typing either!

lol! It is quite funny but I can well believe it! I sometimes feel like that!

Oh, just for the record, I dunno if you've heard of that fame where you get a rubber, on one side you write "yes", the other "no" and the rest, "maybe", well, you then ask questions with a "yes" or "no" answer and flip the rubber, well, my friend and me were playing that in maths and she asked "will Esti marry James from Skandal?" and the answer came up as yes! Will be funny if it comes true!!!!! (I wish!)

Yes doll, it would be WONDERFUL as long as he's not like most musicians I known & loved! Many can't seem to help chashing skirts...until they'er MUCH older & TRUELY ready to settle down! Take it form me...I had 13 fellows ask me to marry them before I finally "let one have me" Please travel, play music and really love yourself before you "give" your love away!!! I started in a band when I was 13...by the time I was 15...I'd seen more of the behind the sceens than a young lady should!!! And my poor mom spending her hard earned money to send me to Finishing School-'Holly Hall'-Charm Scholl For Young Ladies! I couldn't be in the fashion show right before graduation because I let a lead singer...whom I was totally in love with, put sucker bites in a ring around my neck!!! Mom should have KILLED me for that stunt!

What do you mean behind the scenes? You mean all the exploitation of young girls? My mum said if I ever join a band she wants to watch our every move.

There was this programme I watched on the BBC a few months ago about models and how they are exploited, and they got this guy to go undercover, and even he was shocked about how the girls are exploited, and the fact that they are forced to go on drugs just so they stay unnaturally thin. My mum was saying it's exactly the same with young girls who want to be singers/actreses. Sounds really scary to me, especially after watching this programme on the models. It showed you how they were taken to nightclubs and were given anything they wanted so they would think modelling is a good life, then when one of the guys who was supposed to be looking after them decided to go off with one of the girls (who they think was 14), and she refused, and started screaming that she wanted to go home, they refused. I can't remember what happened to her in the end, I think the undercover guy took her home in the end!

Anyway, I'm still hoping to get to Party in the Park, so far here are the 22 artists who have been confermedand they recon the total will be 35!)

You just blew my mind! I'd no idea Artful Dodger were still together!!! Long ago I knew them well! We use to have parties in the park...or band challenges...the last one I went to had over two hundred thousand people! It was great!
I'm glad you saw that show about what can happen to young girls! They
take you far from home & you have no choice but to depend on them! That's what I meant by NEVER do anything you're not comfy with! You've a good head dear...just be sure to keep it that way! My mom didn't know what I was up to, she was too busy being a nurse! I still have friends that are in bands. Now that I'm 'learning' to use Mac I hope to look some of them up again!
You asked my age...triple yours & you'll find mine! but INSIDE I seem to be stuck somewhere around 20! I'm 8 yrs older than my hubby...he's like an old man to me! I was just about to send you an E when I noticed that you had a post here!

lol! I haven't got much support, everyone tells me it's not for me, the girl who is supposed to be the lead singer is very good, I think she sounds like a higher pitched version of Christina Aguilera!
I was really shocked after seeing that programme. I felt really sorry for that girl, they think she was about 14. She was calm at first saying that she felt tired and wanted to go home, but they ignored her, then she started screaming and shouting and they told her she was ok and she shouldn't worry. I really felt sorry for her.

Are you sure you're thinking of the same Artful Dodger band? I'm sure this one are very new, infact they only released their debut single last December. I dunno. The one I'm really looking forward to is Queen performing with 5ive! They did that at the Brit Awards in March and were fantastic, and apparently they're doing the same thing here. They're doing a cover of "We Will Rock You", which is being released here in a few weeks time. The only thing I hope they don't keep the same is the crowd surfing! Considering if I go I will be at the front I'm not sure if my back will hold out carrying a member of 5ive! Not that they are huge guys or anything!

Honey, Artful Dodger was around when I was your age!!! Maybe someone has taken their name? Or a son of a member has re-started the band?
But they, the originals, were out when I had an 8 track of them!!!
And I've seen Queen sooooo many times! *starts to sing:We are the champions my friend....*Ahhhhhhh youth! The last concert I went to was Pink Floyd, their Division Bells concert. My hubby goes to lots, he never went as a youth, so I buy he & his friends tickets just so he'll go! Floyd is my all time favorite!!! I've seen them three times that I remember...I use to party harty when I was young...at least I got it out of my system! Some 'kids' never grow up! I hate to drive through our Village & see men my age still hanging around the streets looking for something to do! They'er the ones we call "burn outs" too bad! But I've been thinking how lucky you are! When I was your age, teens who played in bands just wern't taken seriously...but these days-ANYTHING
is possible! Keep your dream alive!!! So say I!!!

Have you ever come across Trinity (aka Jeni X) on h2g2? She's supposed to be the lead singer, and if she does I think she will go down very well! I think her page is http://www.h2g2.com/U108443 . It's true, bands are getting younger nowdays, most of them are still in their late teens when they start. Have you heard of Westlife yet? When they started out I think one of them was 18, but now the oldest is 21, the youngest is 20! I'm wondering how old Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys was when they started out because he only turned 20 this year, and they've been going for at least 5 years! I'm not sure about the ages of Skandal, I know Matt and Matty are both 19, but I don't know about the other 2, I wouldn't be surprised if the other 2 are also in their teens!
I have a slight feeling James is the youngest!

Pink Floyd, ever come across my brother (Shim) or Jules? Both of them are big heavy metal fans and I know Jules is very much into Pink Floyd! My brother has got a few of their albums, and when I went to stay with him at the end of April, I had a lot of trouble getting out of bed, so one morning he put on one of their albums, it's a track which starts of with thunder and then there's all these alarm clocks, I think it's called "Hells Bells", have you heard it? I was laughing at the thought that was what he used in an attempt to wake me up!

called 'Time'. I couldn't tell you who I've run into durning various concerts-I've been to so many...I started going when I was 12!!! And stared in the band at 13!
When I had an 8 track, in my 1st appartment, back in the 70's we had a party that lasted all week-end. We just let Dark Side run. (an 8 track would just start over when it got to the end-I loved them!) on Sunday afternoon someone said,"Hey, I smell something burning!" Then someone else said,"Hey, what happened to the music?!?" We soon found that a tape could only run for so long before it melted! That was the end of my 1st Dark Side & my 1st stereo! I keep it here next to me along with Cheryl Crow, Ozzy...along with others I play in Mac while on the
internet! Gotta' have me tunes

My brother is MAD on Ozzy Ozzborne, he's planning on going to one of his concerts soon. It's definately Dark Side of the Moon.

Skandal haven't updated their tour board and the last date on there is today!

Well, have you run into Scandal around town yet?!? Once you find out where they like to hang out..it will be quite easy to 'run into them'
now & then!!! Who knows, maybe they could give you & your friends tips on getting your band going!

Not yet, I think they've been rather busy with *stuff*, but they are filming the Champaign Highway video in London on July 28th so I'm getting a group of my mates together and we're gonna try and go there! The release date for the single is September 18th!!!!!!!

My friend who wants to be in the band is coming round next week so I can tune in her guitar......and maybe to write some songs....
