h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It seems to me that "Soul collector" could be taken at least two different ways. The name suggests that either you're some sort of sinister supernatural entity like The Grim Reaper, harvesting human spirits - or, alternatively, that you're someone with a very good record collection.
Which interpretation would be correct?

Well upon reflection I would have to say both...as I love music and at present have around 200 mp3's on my computer...and the fact that I play alot of game's online in a virtual world would hopefully suggest that i collect a lot of virtual soul's hehehe ,the name come's from the group Collective Soul...one of my more favoured group's.
I've been sitting here trying to work out what your nic could mean but have no idea... ...

I am a pretty keen soccer fan, as you can see from my homepage and, even more so, from my football page - http://www.h2g2.com/A243677 is where you can find the latter if you're interested. I named myself in tribute to a former soccer player, Ian Ormondroyd, who I used to enjoy watching during his two spells with my beloved Bradford City. (He's still at the club as part of the non-playing staff).
One reasone for choosing the nic is that, since Ian Ormondroyd was successful but never a superstar, I thought it was highly unlikely that anyone else would think of it. As far as h2g2 goes, that's been true - but there IS another Ormondroyd, who does "virtual match reports" in cartoon form on the Guardian newspaper's website! Just this week I had an e-mail from a friend congratulating me on my new job with The Guardian, and I had to write back and disillusion him!

Ah...that would be why I didn't get it..hehe don't play much sport or watch all that much except for when the All Black's are playin...one day they are going to win while I am watching seem's like a long time since they've won a game of note!! too long in fact

Are you actually based in New Zealand? One reason I ask is that I must admit that I'd never heard of Collective Soul before I got your previous posting. I'm a professional journalist who has written more about music than anything else, so I like to think that I know my stuff, but I've never come across them before. I've since looked them up on the Ultimate Band List site, so I know that they're American. Perhaps they're big in NZ but unknown here in Britain.
