Yeah, I got lost in Hannover, but somehow found myself getting lost in Berlin. I'm having a great time, how about you?

I'm sure I'm having fun - I'm just too tired to be definate! I got myself briefly lost in Venice this week but now I'm back in Germany.
I think I'd prefer Germany more if there were more Irish people around - I've had quite a few problems with the Germans becuase we don't share the same sense of humour - oops! I just keep offending people without realising it!

LOL That is 100% true. I try to lighten a potentially tense situation with a little humour, and the woman behind the counter starts to smoke out of her ears and make growling noises in her throat. At other times I translate some standard English proverb like "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" or "I've got enough on my plate already, thank you." They just reply with, "Plate? Eggs? Wha-what?"
Where in jolly Deutschland are you anyway?

I try to get lost in Hannover next week. It should not be so hard with these kind of instructions.
Maybe I find myself in Bilbao or some other as German place...

I'm in Goettingen, not too far from Hannover (but only for 6 more days!! - I go home for the holidays next Wednesday) I work in a pub and humour when I'm serving sometimes works and then sometimes goes seriously wrong - like the time out barman told someone that the extra milk she wanted was bad for her and she terribly offended! Thank goodness for the Irish and English (and the Germans with a sense of humour) that I've met otherwise I'd go mad.
Wooh, small world!

When I worked in Hanover a workmate of mine lived in Göttingen. We went to Mainz one week to do some installations in the glas factory there, and I stayed overnight at his place.
He had a bloody nice house, I can tell you!
I wonder if he ever ordered a pint from you...? Hmm...
Anyhow, hope you have a great time back in Blighty!

Nice houses in Göttingen? Where?? I´m cursed with a student residence, and seeing as most of my friends and co-workers are in student res as well all I see is tiny kitchens shared by 10 people on a long corridor or tiny little one bedroom appartments!
Um...

I hasten to add that my colleague was not, repeat not a student. Hence the nice house. I was, of course, in a student residence like everyone else. Shared a kitchen with nigh on twenty people, but it was summer and we had a great time.

Ahhh, that would certainly explain the nice house! I´m lucky I only share with three other people. They are all moving out next week or the week after because the semester finished and I´m getting 3 new flatmates in April when I come back - I wonder how they´ll adapt to me coming in from work at 10 in the morning after ending up in an all night bar or sitting in someone´s house drinking tea!
