h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A few days ago, this painting of mine was severely damaged by my own mistake.
I had bought a black, pre-fabricated passe-partout and I assumed it was destined for A4-formats.
Yes, it wás, and my painting was also máde at A4 paper.

Bút I had forgotten, that in highth/loweth I had painted the full 100 % space.
I did have special care for the top of the painting.

A day later, I discovered, that the "bottom" was "changed".

I did not really think it all over, or had a real look behind the passe-partout and so I painted some more black Acrylic in the right corner, down.

Anóther day later, I discovered, that the passe partout had hidden three cm. from the original bottom and that the original was far more dynamic then the "new one".

It could not be repared.
At the internet I looked for info. about professional printing services, because the original was now only digital and could at least be printed.

A lady mailed me, that she had seen my painting and she herself had printed it and hung it in her room.
She wrote me, that she would be "honoured" with printing it at her sophisticated hardware, including a nice and fitting passe-partout ánd a silver-like phrame with glass ánd to bring it to me in my home.

And there she was, today, with her husband, who also makes paintings.

And there we were, in my room, talking about my other paintings.



Later on we walked to the corner of my street to eat Italian
Icecreme and there they told theír story.

That they had come to know each other 1 1/2 years ago at the internet, and that they both broke up their marriages to be able to love each other and share their lives together. (and they both seem to me very well-balanced peoples).

We talked about knowing one's own passions and how important it is to live that out. How important it is to share that with others and so pass on the torch of passion.

So this was a rich day in the life of theirs and mine.

The fire of passion, shared with those who live their own passion(s).

Passing on the torch of fire.

That - to me - makes life meanigful.
