Hello my name is Ken and my favorite color is clear.
Greetings. As you can tell from my intro, I am slightly out of my mind. I work nights, so my sense of humor is a little dry to begin with. I don't really care much for nights, I don't like the night life, I don't like to boogie....however...I do have a wife and two children to support, and night shift does pay quite well. Enough of that. I am here because I am what you would call a late bloomer. Let me briefly explain. I am 35 years old, and spent most of my life watching boring tv, reading boring books, listening to boring music and interacting with boring people. In my late 20's I decided it was time to change. I traveled with my wife to her home country, the Czech Republic, and have been traveling since. I bought myself a pimp red leather highback chair and ottomen, and found a new love of literature. Now I am not going to try and pawn myself off as some sort of intellectual that could quote or even spell Nitzche, or recite a sonnet. I just opened my mind to new experiences. Obviously I found a strong liking to Douglas Adams, or else how would I have known about the site...but I have also recenly read works by Dan Brown, James Hilton, Bruce Campbell, and Alfred E. Neumann.
I am an emergency room nurse working in the suburbs of Chicago Illinois....yes across the big pond. . As mentioned before, the TV shows here are becoming increasingly sucky. Too many "reality" shows these days. The only show worth a damn is Lost.
I married a lovely Czech woman in 2000, and are still going strong. She is a great wife and mother who stays home with our little ones. Someday I will crack the whip and get her back out to work...probably when the kids are in school. We have traveled a bit, and been on a few cruises. Not much time for that with the young ones at home. She is also a nurse...used to work in labor and delivery. She was also the reason that we had to move to Dallas. She was a flight attendant that lost her job as a result of 911. We were relocated there for her job.
I have two children who I adore. My son Dominik was born in february of 2006, and my daughter Alanna was born in July of 2007. They are my reason for working as hard as I do. They remind me every day how one person can influence another...for good or for ill. I learn as much from them as they learn from me. Baby swear words are a little hard to pronounce though...just kidding.
I think that I will leave it at that. I'm sure that if anybody read this far, you are either as bored as I am, or find my brief intro somewhat interesting. In either case, send me a message if you want to chat, hear more to the story, suggest a book etc. Thanks for listening.
