Switzerland is one of my favourite countries and I'd move there if I had half a chance - unfortunately I'm stuck in Britain for now
.
My three particular loves in Switzerland are fondue, chocolate and Rivella. I find it eternally frustrating that Rivella is not available in Britain... last time I visited Switzerland I filled my rucksack on return with bottles of the stuff.
As a matter of interest, how did you manage to move to Switzerland? I've heard it's notoriously difficult; did you get a partner/job/something there?

I can't believe you're not a natural-born Swiss. I've never met anyone other than a Swiss person who actually likes Rivella. I've lived here for twelve years and I've still not got the taste for it. You do know what it's made of, don't you?
The best way to move to Switzerland is to get a job here, which is what I did. If you're serious about moving here, make a list of the Swiss companies you could work for and look up their websites. These should have a Situations Vacant page. If you find a job you think you could do, simply send off an application.
Good luck.

Don't the government insist that the company proves that a Swiss person couldn't do the job before letting them get someone from outside? Or something?
I'm addicted to Rivella... dunno why... and it's made from healthy stuff, as opposed to the mix of additives that is Coke.

Regarding Swiss employment legislation, there is a nominal requirement for the company to demonstrate that they have tried to find a Swiss person to fill the job before they look elsewhere. However, unemployment in Switzerland is so low at the moment that most companies are struggling to find qualified staff. Also, being able to speak English is a major point in your favour. Like I said, go for it.
It does help to have paper qualifications. In particular, if you are a university graduate you should have no trouble finding a job here.

Cool thanks for the tips. I'm in a fairly new job at the moment here in Southampton, but if it doesn't turn out as well as I hope it will in the long run, I'll definitely look into Swiss jobs
