Just curious to know whether you've been following the thread that was touched off by yesterday's (25 Sep '06) Front Page entry on Doreen Valiente. If not, it's worth a look, I think, as a case study of some sort or other. I half-way expected to see you weighing in on it at some point. I myself was content simply to be what I gather is known here as a 'lurker.' Others seemed to be carrying the debate quite well without further input. The debate is yet another manifestation of the same sorts of issues we've been hashing out in your 'Taking Stock' thread. At any rate, here's the link in case you'd somehow missed it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F47997?thread=3510525&skip=0&show=20. Cheers!

Incidentally, I'm sure there's a more elegant and economical way to relay the link to the thread, but not being sure of exactly what that is, I hoped that the way I did it would at least get the job done.

Hi JCNSmith
Yes, there is. Post the thread link like this: F47997?thread=3510525 (removing the http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/) which will take you to posting one of the thread.
If you wish to be taken to the last posting, post: F47997?thread=3510525&latest=1
Or just a specific posting within a thread: F47997?thread=3510525&post=41191805#p41191805 which should take you to the posting by the Editors announcing the moving of the thread.
I hope this helps
