Just as a matter of curiosity, I've been wondering whether the Sudoku craze has taken hold in the UK, as it appears to have done here in the US.

Certainly has, but I can't think of a worse way of me spending my time, personally.

Absolutely! Were I at your place in life, I'd be saying exactly the same thing. As it is, however, being retired and with no family at hand, I have time to play with such things and find them an amusing diversion. A way to keep the neurons from becoming too lazy, a form of mental calisthenics. Those in your phase of life have no need--or time-- to seek out artificial stimuli. Was Just curious about whether they'd spread to your environs. Had you replied, 'what's a sudoku?' that would have told me all I needed to know, too! Thanks!
