Isn't that just typical...

You get home after a longer-than-normal day, and just as you get through the door, it all goes black. Everything. Yes, we're in the middle of a power-cut. Thank goodness for that box of candles...

Well, well, well...

It would appear that I have returned. I can't promise how long for, or how regularly I'll be checking in, but hopefully I'll find time to write an entry or two every so often.

Lots of things have changed over the intervening years. (I hope) I've grown up a bit, looking back over some old posts was... embarrassing? Painful? Painfully embarrassing?

Anyway, to any who I may have hurt in my previous existance here, I'm sorry. Let's hope I do better this time round.

Why are jobs like buses?

Because you wait ages for one, then two come along at once!

Yes, I had another interview this week (already planned before Monday!) And yes, I ended up with another job offer. Which puts me an a rather unusual (for me) situation.

I very tempted by the latest offer - it's a nicer location (Rugby, rather than Coventry), although it would be a bit further to travel, a higher starting salary, it's a bigger company (about 20 employees at the moment, I think), it's much more structured, with a proper training scheme, the hours are a bit more flexible, there's a pension scheme (seems like you can't plan far enough ahead these days), and the job itself seems to encompass a wider range of things. It'd mean learning another programming language (and would be more a programming role than web development), but with the training they offer it doesn't look like that'll be a problem.

Why didn't this all happen sooner?!?!?!
