You should have a reply by now. Use it wisely, my son!

Orcus has solved that one I'm stuck on, then? Oh dear. Couldn't I have another little clue?
Orcus, feel free to join in; that was the whole idea after all.

You have no idea how warm I feel inside!
Now I'm going to give myself a month or two to mull over clue 3...
Just to make sure I'm made painfully aware of my status, what's the latest clue number? Perhaps I don't want to know.

Bagpuss, gosh, thanks for letting me carry on If you've read my comment on my page its because I misread what I'd read here earlier (think I've confused myself there). Anyway, no clue about mine until I'm asked... Sorry for ignoring you inadvertently pathew, four's better than three

Hurrah!
Hello Orcus, I had no idea what you were just talking about.
But I've finally managed to catch up with you all and now it makes beautiful sense!
(The unnecessary addition of 'beautiful' there is just a symptom of my excitement - it may never happen again)
Now to unravel the mysteries of clue 7...

Hi Pathew, just been reading my earlier stuff, you'll understand my apology when you get to clue 7 (or is it 6?) or have you got there already?. I said there were three now, when of course you've been there much longer than me. Anyway, happy hunting.
Orcus gloats that noone's got his clue yet (actually relieved that it wasn't blindingly obvious).

The fact that I've been here longer means nothing. It took me a month to not get the answer to clue 2!
I'm putting all that down to, er, hormones. Or the phases of the moon. Or something.
I'm now (it seems) fully caught up and raring to go.
You may well gloat, Mister.
But just remember - Pride comes before a pathew grovelling for a hint to the answer. And don't you forget it.

Sorry Bagpuss, you'll understand that last posting when you get to my question. Thinks, maybe he sould keep private postings like that more private so as not to confuse/annoy other participants. Quite enough confusion in the game already really.
Game's ticking along nicely now though? Several players stuck on different clues, that's the way it should be really. Now, let me think...

That's OK. A little confusion never hurt anyone (except possibly that guy who had the wrong kidney removed by a surgeon).
Yes, I'm glad to see the game's finally taken off, but annoyed that everyone else is further on than I am.

From little acorns mighty oaks do grow...
This paper(less)chase could become the tamagochi or space-hopper of the 00's!
You've created a phenomenon!
Admittedly, there are only 4 of us to share in this phenomenon, but that just means there's more phenomenon per head!
pathew (promising not to say 'phenomenon' again for at least a week)
Apologies to anyone who's playing but hasn't posted here - I don't mean to ignore you (you know, the way Orcus viciously and cruelly ignored me), I just can't see you. But I still care.

Which reminds me - Bagpuss, perhaps you should add something on the 'start page' to the effect of 'sign your name at the bottom of each answer', to show who's got how far?

Just to let y'all know, it looks like h2g2 is in a fit state for the quiz to resume! Let the questions begin!

Bagpuss Posted Mar 16, 2001
It already has, though due to the decimation of previous conversations, you have to start from the start.

If you're continuing with the old paperchase, could I please have another clue for the "Coward's tear-jerking..." one? Please? I'm really stuck.
