What's it like at Warwick? Some of my friends are thinking of going there this year.
How do you like this place so far?
I only just joined this place on Saturday, so I'm pretty new here too, so I'll probably be useless at answering any questions. If you've got any you should ask one of the ACE's, they said "Hi" to me when I first started. The only ones I know though are vegiman and Fairly Strange. How do you get to their pages? Well, I'm not too sure about that, but I know that if you click on my name at the top of this post it'll take you to my home page, then if you go into one of the forums like "Hi Vicky" then you can click on their name to take you to their page. Did that make sense?
Probably not. If you want, you can ask me a question and I'll ask them...
BTW, I'm Vicki.
I'm also a huge Discworld fan (I've read all of them - and I mean ALL of them), but I've never read any of Asimov's work I'm afraid.
I'll lay of the brass instrument jokes for now, cos you might know some horrible, cutting remarks about the clarinet, saxophone or piano (that's what I play, in case you didn't realise that - you probably did)
BTW, this'll appear on my home page, so I SHOULD know if you ever reply...please do...
I'll let you get on with nosing about this place, there's a lot to see - I know, I've been looking.
See you around...
Vicki

G'day Vicki!
Life at Warwick is really great - at least in my experience. Everyone who I live with (all sixteen of us) get on really well. We are looking at possible houses to move into next year - all of us in two houses next door to each other!
The social life is pretty good, too - if you can find the time (doing a Maths degree takes up a heck of a lot of time)
But the (few) times I have been out, I've had a really great time. The highlights of last term were:
Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra (everyone went to this - the union was packed!)
The Christmas Ball - another popular one, as it was the last main event that EVERYONE was here for.
Anyway, I'd better go - I'm starving!
See ya soon,
Justin

Glad to know Warwick's good - I'll tell my friends that!
I can't actually think of anything much to say - sorry - perhaps I can annoy you later when I've got lots to ramble on about...
...actually...seeing as how you're doing a Math's degree...err...it's here that you realise that I have no concept of the word "tact"...I might make your life Hell and ask for help with my Math's A-level? My final exam's coming up soon that's all, and I tend to worry a lot about nothing - don't worry it'll just be stupid little things that people don't explain to me properly - and I'll probably never ask, but it would mean that I could ramble on with a purpose...
Ah well, just ignore me, I don't mind, I just keep on typing and stopping people from eating...
Don't starve to death will you?

One final word about Warwick - and uni's in general - make sure you visit at least once before you make your final choice! Since you're doing your A-levels this year, I guess you've done your UCAS form. And already chosen which uni's you really want to go to. So this is all a bit pointless.
As for the maths, I'll be glad to help (if you REALLY want me to) if I can - just let me know! Results are not (unfortunately for you) guaranteed, but I'll do my best.
As you may well have guessed, I haven't starved (and don't intend to, either!), cos I'm replying to this...
Oh well, better be off - I need some sleep!

Good to know you're still alive!
I've been down to the Uni I want to go to - Royal Holloway, incase you know someone who goes there - it looked fine to me...
Mmn, well, I want to do a physics/music degree there, and they say I have to have A-level maths. Bit of a pain seeing as how it wasn't one of the A-levels I originally did - so now they'll accept me with an A or B at AS - of course, now, I can't fit any maths lesson's into my timetable, and although my college said they'd enter me for the exams I've got to teach it to myself - it's a suicide mission.
So now I'm stuck doing 4 and a 1/2 A-levels - that means 9 exams in June (4 of them are music) - I'm pretty sure that I'll crack under all this pressure (perhaps)
Anyway, I'll get my 3rd lot of modular results tomorrow - so if you never hear from me again they were very, very bad...
I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed.

Thought you might want to know this...
There's a party at:
http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=18878&thread=34322
It's been going on for a long time as far as I can tell (inside a whale called Velma) and although I haven't dared say anything yet, I'm sure you will.
Have Fun

Purely out of interest, which board is your music A-level? I did London board (I think) - we had to learn about 40 pieces of music, and be able to write about them in the exam! It was absolute hell - I don't think anyone enjoyed it.
Again, out of interest, which board is your Maths. Mine was MEI, and most of it wasn't too bad. Until I got to the further maths stuff...
Enough said, I think.

Music is NEAB and maths is OCR.
We have to know just about everything about Russian Composers, String Quartet's and Piano Music, Chopin -> Brahms, and our set work is Beethoven's Violin Concerto...
...far to much to learn me thinks!
Still, not much longer now and it'll all be over...

Talking of all things vodka, why not take a look at my entry for 'Vodka jelly' (not that I'm into self-advertising or anything...)

Hi you two. I'm pleased to see you're finding your way around to the parties and everything. There are links to the Aces and lots of other places on my page. If you need any pointers feel free to ask, I'm happy to talk to anyone and everyone.
And welcome to h2g2, both of you. It's good to see you here.

Fair do's (whatever the hell that means!). But surely there are ways of keeping track of people. (If this makes you feel a little paranoid, don't worry. You're not the only one. I know because I'm watching lots of other paranoid people. Hahahahahaaaa!!!!!)

I have no idea.
Paranoia, don't talk to *me* about paranoia...
Hi Justin
The Researcher formally known as Dr St Justin Posted Jan 16, 2000
Ok, I won't. Mostly because I had to re-word my last posting 'cos I couldn't manage to spell paranoia. In fact, I spent so long trying to get it to look right tat I got a little paranoid...
