I do apologise for my little tantrum last night - I understand that lots of people are working really hard to make things better.

Oh my dear Beatrice - please don't apologise. I totally understand how annoying and frustrating it is to have your time wasted when the technology lets you down. I was being serious by suggesting you write to me by email, as it might be easier to identify ways in which I might be able to help, especially if it is to do with editing someone's work for the Post. Also the feedback might be useful, you may be running into some bug that is not listed or known.

Of course, the Post is entirely independent from the Guide - but it's likely that the experience we've got from doing a lot of subbing might be helpful. Also changing accounts and using different versions of h2g2 is something that sometimes trips me up. I have been known to post to jokey threads, only to discover that I'd not signed out of the italic Guide Ed account

Changing accounts is OK - where I came unstuck was trying to change skins while signed in as Post Team.

The "click on FP - it's in Pliny - and now you're stuck in Pliny" is still an issue for me in Brunel, though that aspect seems to be OK in Alabaster.

Bel and Dmitri are marvellous, and do keep me right if I ask. But sometimes I've made an error before I discover it was the wrong thing to do.

(Like try to edit in Pliny - is it written somewhere in big friendly letters not to attempt this?)

Ah, I find it easier to keep more than one tab open - so when I change skins ( which I often do to check how things look in all versions) I can keep the page I have been working on and not lose it.

If you need to see the FP in Brunel, you can either go to Alabaster FP and swap out the skin name for Brunel

Regarding editing in Pliny, we've asked the sub editors and curators not to *edit* in Pliny until we're completely free of bugs, but as far as I am aware the wysiwyg editor in Pliny is sufficient for writing basic Entries. There is still a lot of work to do before we're totally satisfied with things.

If you do find problems, please report them to Milla at Technical Feedback. This will help us to know which bits need attention.
