I put my foot in my mouth big-time in another thread regarding musical tastes. The thing is, I'm willing to add popular genres to my CD collection, but I've missed a lot over the years. I found a website that listed 100 great rock CDs. That would be a start. I listen to ten CDs a day. At least one of them could be rock.

What do you think?

Do you have any opportunity to listen to the tracks people put here from youtube? I would hate to advise you to buy a CD that you dislike.

Failing that, is there a library that offers music CDs on loan?

I'll give this some thought. My tastes are pretty eclectic, and moved away from much classic rock over the years, although I still really love Santana. It's personal taste of course, but more than that, it's the sound track from different parts of my life.

Here is one track that might give me a bit of energy to get on with packing, cleaning and sorting matters; its Carlos Santana on guitar with lyrics by Rob Thomas, 'Smooth' from the album 'Supernatural'.

I like it that your tastes are eclectic. For now, I probably need the basics so I won't be totally out of it. "Abraxas" by Santana is on my list, so that could help.

[Last night I went to the movies to see "Rock of Ages" and had more fun than I thought I would. The previews had been very over-the-top. Themovie itself has a nice romantic subplot and some very funny silliness.]
