Hi Prof, a pleasure to meet you - a like mind, as I cannot help but ask questions myself. It's the way I was brought up I suppose, in north Staffordshire, which is so not so very different from Yorkshire in many ways. Well that answers one question, no I'm not spanish. I'm early retired now due to illness, and half live over here since my husband died. You mustn't feel either jealous of me, or sorry for me. Life is a full of mixed blessings.

The Azores? are they the little islands further south from here? My knowledge of geography is non-existent. If so, I hear they are beautiful and undeveloped, but a long long way from anywhere.

My dad was originally from Staffs, but was moved up here when a child.
I do hope that your illness is not to debilitating.
I actually never get jealous or sorry in that sense, as again like you-Life is a full of mixed blessings- life happens whether we want it to or not, so as long as I can bring smiles to all along the way, that's MY role in life

Oh so that's where the Azores are - I never knew that! I must have been thinking of Cape Verde Islands, these are further south, but also Portuguese.
