My Dear Lil,

Thank you so much.


I shall try, but the move is very busy and stressful. I have three people coming in this afternoon to help me pack . Then of course there is the unpacking at the other end. They are coming in every Saturday for the next three weeks.

The decade I am taliing about was 1958-1968. Eventful for a great many reasons. Both personal and political.

There is a really serious spelling error in the name of our house. It was called Dam Close - because there was a dam at the bottom of the hill!!.

One night we had five inches of rain in one night. The next day the children rushed down to see the dam. They found the wall breached and hundreds of poor unfortunate birds eggs lying on the ground. . Also many nests with tiny baby birds in them. For some reason I had an incubator, and so all the eggs they brought up went into the incubator,. We tried to keep the tiny featherless newly hatched birds alive - not with much success unfortunately.

I shall try and write about Cuthbert. If you could let me know when it has to be in.

Please don't feel rushed into writing anything, until you are ready.

You have made a very good start and it would be nice if your memories can be passed on via <./>ThePost</.>. So many youngsters are unaware of the importance of these historic times.

I have corrected the spelling error and will have another look at placing the timescale later..

My so understanding Lil,

Thank you so much for extending the "deadline."

I think I am quite dotty trying to move at my great age without a member of the family able to offer me a hand.

K. is so upset about the move that he does not want to go, which actually exacerbates my "angst"

I shan't go into the many problems which occur on a daily basis!!. I am fortified however, that within the month I shall be waking up in my beautiful new "eyrie" looking down at the sea, and able to live right next to the cliffs of Folkestone and being able to gaze across at the coast of France on a fine day.

What joy a wonderful view can give one.

Hi again.

Just a brief report back that I have difficulty getting onto my space practically every time I try. It is that same fault which I mentioned last time to you, saying that there was an error . I wonder if something can be done about it. I wonder whom i should contact.

The only 'deadline' we have, is that if you want your articles to be in the Post for a particular issue, it should be in by midnight the Sunday before. Other than that, it is entirely at your leisure.

Take your time, and once you are fully settled and able to take in the view of Folkstone, then you might give us a little thought.
