"Me"
I guess I've allways enjoyed writing for myself. I'd describe myself as directionless.
Relatively new to the internet, and have taken this site as my first step to developing skills and finding a possible direction.
-Poetry has always been my first port of call, my poetry is more like a diary, it simply reflects my current emotions or passing thoughts. I write poems at speed (probably shows!) and use them as word exercises -particularly if I'm trying to write a story and the words aren't flowing.
Beyond a couple of poems in anthologies and articles for newsletters -I'm not published, but my mind (and computer) are full of stories and ideas -and I'm now trying to improve my skills and hopefully find a possible direction (creative outlet).
I am passionate about film as a form of creative expression. I have always loved watching films and dramas, to extent of turning volume down to watch carmera angles and actors expressions and movements. I'm trying desperately to improve my scriptwriting skills. Studying archive scripts etc.
To date, I have lacked discipline, but am trying to focus sufficently to combine ideas and short stories to write a novel (with the possibility of screen adaptation (-local film festival level would be great).
I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance that is forthcoming. I have really enjoyed using this site and am sorry to hear of its forthcoming closure; I am trying to develop an on-line writers community just now (small group at present!) -with the emphasis on supporting and advising its members for development as writers, as a member I too hope to benefit from "writetrack" as it grows!
