Direct From the Frozen Tundra of Saskatchewan
Well, this should be interesting. One wonders why one goes out and experiences all those things one experiences in that, not altogether unpleasant, time spent called life. Then one comes across a guide book which is looking for people to offer little bits of interesting knowledge and one hastily begins blurting out the hordes of facts and figures one has found stopping up one's brain. Well, if you're keen to know...Just Who do You Think You are?
While it is true we do not really know whether our lives are 'real' or simply an illusion or some other odd thing, it's much more comforting to think that all the things that can't hurt us are 'real' and everything else is just a side-effect of our overwhelming desire to be frightened. For example, I tend to believe that I am Edward Lapin, from the vast hinterland of Canada1. I tend to believe this because, thanks to advances in surgical fingerprint removal and careful avoidance of government, this fact cannot hurt me. Among my other beliefs are: I live in Saskatchewan, I am currently attending University, my middle name is not Hogglesworth, there will never be a day in which I cannot mix ice and water and obtain ice water, there will always be at least one Spice Girl. You're From Where?
