I remember having eaten raw peas as a child - including skin!
Btw - did you know that peanuts are vegetables?

Well, so are carrots, potatoes, onions...
And cucumbers are berries, whereas strawberries just pretend

Strawberries *do* have fruits on, they're the little brown "seeds"
I've had to listen to this lecture often, my parents are both biologists

Ih-Dschieh Posted Feb 1, 2008
Aren't they green?
Really? There is such a thing as a biologist? And they really believe what they say?
I wonder whether fish are really birds...

Nah, not biology. It was too boring at school. Not that I chose a different career. Just couldn't imagine doing anything for more than a few years without going insane. It didn't help though...

No, I've been bike-messenger for 12 years, but I don't know whether I can go on with that job because of my knee...

Yes, that must be difficult. Maybe you can find something else to do with that until you can again? Do bike messengers have despatchers, or something? I really don't know. This city is too hilly, anyway

Ih-Dschieh Posted Feb 1, 2008
Don't know whether I will be able to do it again. Despatchers? What are those? And as far as I know there are even bike messengers in Switzerland and they can even take extra money for hills!

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Feb 1, 2008
Despatchers are the people who tell taxis where to go, for example. I think.
They'd be earning a lot extra here. Films that are supposed to be set in San Francisco are filmed here on account of the steep hills

Ah, those! Yes, of course we have them, but we have the advantage of being able to take more than one job at a time. Don't know - I think it's more probable to take the phone calls from the clients, but I don't think I'd enjoy that.
So where do you live? (No, I'm not curious at all! )

Ih-Dschieh Posted Feb 1, 2008
Well, as long as I "earn" more now with Hartz IV than with cycling before...
Oh, of course! Shame on me - how could I forget?

Don't remind me - I've got to get home again! There is really snow falling - in Hamburg! Unbelievable!
