Hi!
Thanx for dropping by
Well, the name is derived from a name with there initials I chose about 20 years ago, and since nobody can remember 4 syllables it had to be abbreviated, so I chose to write it as it is spoken. And it has the advantage that no-one knows what it stands for and so no wrong conclusions can be made...

It's a name that sounds really nice if you don't know its history. There is even an entry about it...

Don't worry. Only one of mine has ever made it into the Edited Guide, and I've been here for several years

I've had some texts published but then in that paper everything gets published as long you don't break any laws. Maybe I'll try to translate some of those and see what happens...

Good luck. My first solo entry was a translated Uni paper...
You speak English very well, but if you need any help, just say the word - you can e-mail it to me or put a link up here to the entry, and I'll look over it for you. It would be a pity not to read your entries just because of a, er Hemmschwelle. (Yes, hamsters, I know it's English only on here, but "inhibition threshold" is just too clumsy a term)

Thanks - I try. The main reason for my good English might be that I read quite a lot in English. I tried reading a book by an American author in German and it just didn't work. So I fear my texts might lose in translation, too... At least a parody of "Ottos Mops" is impossible to translate. And it wouldn't really be funny because no non-German knows the original

I know what you mean. Reading the original is usually best, if you can
And I'm sure you can come up with something good. Maybe you can write about Hamburg? There are entries, but not edited ones.
No hurry, though, nice to have you around just to chat, too.

Well, MILLYWAYS in Hamburg is quite disappointing really
And I really wouldn't know what to write about Hamburg. I mean, there is not so much special about the place where you live because you are used to it.

There's a bar called Milliways in Kaiserslautern, but I've only ever seen it from the outside.
True Everything just seems too normal to be of interest to anyone.

Well, at least in this bar you can get something to drink - try getting served at a shoe-shop!
The most interesting thing about Hamburg seems to me the fact that there are more bridges than anywhere else. I can't imagine how other cities cope with less.

But... but... They do have at least a tiny stream, don't they? And be it only for disposing of their excrement or their toxic waste...

Oh, come on - be honest. I can stand the truth. Or so I think...

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Jan 21, 2008
But I can't
I'm only several hundred metres from the river, but 50m above it - we have stairs like you have bridges
Hullo, Ih-Dschieh
Ih-Dschieh Posted Jan 21, 2008
50m - that must be enough to survive the great flood
But don't you think that a bridge might have a few advantages when crossing the river?
