How are the compositions handled by your college? Do you get grades? Who grades them?



Well, I'm curious...

They get sent off to an examiner or something...although I have a suspicion that our teacher grades them beforehand, but just can't tell us what he's given us, then they get sent of to be moderated - to see how evil/kind he's been when he marked them...

...I actually have very little idea...I doubt I ever find out the grade I get for composition, it's all just added towards the final grade after the exams...

...I'm a bit worried...

...You should just do some composition, PP, you don't need your teachers permission to do it......and then you don't have any deadlines to meet...

I'd probably try to include little slices of pieces by other composers... I think it's quite difficult to forget everything you've ever heard and write someting completely new...

So, do a variation on a theme by ___

...And of course you can do it...

Um... Then again, I'd have to play it myself... And if I write something, it'd have to be very difficult

I'm not sure... Perhaps (perhaps!) I'll try something...

...As far as playing it goes...that's why my piano one is quite simple...

Well, to be frank, I think I won't get to do it, because I won't have the time... I mean, most of what I've been doing last week is going to school and answering your emails (and please don't get me wrong... This is the biggest fun I have had in years... )

Answering *my* e-mails...I'm flattered......I've spent most of my time writing them...
