Why things are the way they are.

Its a big world. You can go out there and see a part of it, or a lot of it, and still not know the answers you were seeking when you started your journey.

We all seek the answer to that question "What is the meaning of life?" Life, that brief span of time between birth and death when we are alive, experience happiness and saddness, good times and bad, love and hate, and all the things that make us alive.

Time is the one thing we cannot get more of, so we try to enjoy life to the fullest while we are still alive. I once calculated that if I was to do all the things I wanted to do, visit all the places I wanted to see, read all the books I wanted to read, I would need at least 800 years to do it all.

Unfortunately we are not blessed with such a long life, yet, so we all must condense our desires to a shorter, but more attainable, goals. We all make our own heaven or hell on this planet, I would only hope that the planet that we leave to the next generations is a bit closer to the perfect place to live than the one that was given to us from our parents.

I don't believe in the dooms day prophets, who always claim "the end is coming". Mankind has been around for a million years or so, and I suspect we'll be around for a million more.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
