Welcome.
I don't want to get too close to you,
as last time I came across you it was a bit unsettling.
I'm content just knowing you're there, if it's all the same to you.
Just keep up the good work.....

Hi! Looks like you've found your way around H2G2 pretty well - congrats! smiley - smiley Just in case you need anything, let one of us resident weirdos know...and checking out the "Don't Panic" link or the Assistant Community Editors' hompage (http://www.h2g2.com/A214796) never hurts.

Good luck! smiley - winkeye

Hey there Amanda. Actually, those are the first places I went smiley - smiley

Now I just know I'll end up using GuideML in my web page by mistake, and then get confused at why it doesn't work.

LOL! smiley - smiley Actually, GuideML is the way to go around here, IMHO. Of course you can set up your hompage and other Guide entries in HTML which works perfectly well on it's own. But GuideML (which is VERY similar to HTML) was thought up by the H2G2 team specifically and it allows us to do really cool things on this site - and only this site. You can use all the tags you would use normally with HTML, plus it has a bunch of bonus formating features that help to give pages a really slick, finished look. Also, writing in GuideML will help out the H2G2 staff when they process entries for submission into the Guide. It's all about uniformity...individualized, of course. smiley - winkeye

Anyway, enough of my rambling! Most all of the tags and instructions for using GuideML can be found here: http://www.h2g2.com/A155701 Good luck! smiley - smiley

Actually, i meant I'd become comfused and start using it in my non-H2G2 page ( http://inkspot.dhs.org ). I've done the same thing with Javascript and C++ before, too (used one instead of the other) smiley - smiley

I wish I could find a copy of "The Light Fantastic" smiley - sadface

Which is to say, I wish I could find a used copy, so I don't have to pay full retail for a new one smiley - smiley

Nobody ever seems to get rid of their Discworld books, though. I need to start reading worse authors so I can find more used books by them smiley - smiley
