We're resting now. We had a busy weekend catching up with family.

We found a new restaurant to go to - first opened in 1845 - and ran around the farm, etc.

Absolutely. (On both counts.)

When I asked if they had a 'gluten-free' menu, the waitress said no, but she'd asked the chef what they had. She came back with a handwritten list of everything 'safe'. They let me keep the list - after she photocopied it for other future customers.

And best steak I've had in ages.

THAT is one hell of a placenot many would go that far. BUT! they are going to get your custom and I would reckon that "word of mouth" will bring them more
respect to the staff

Yeah, that's what I think. My sister who lives in upstate New York was really pleased. And we didn't have to go to the noisy steakhouse, so I was chuffed I'd been curious about it.

The flowers are everywhere here - I've never seen so many. Lilies, irises, wildflowers...it's just amazing.

It was cloudy all day, but now the sun is out.

I daren't trust our weather from day to day, no chance whatsoever of "planning ahead" coat/jumper/heavy coat etc

Right now, it's way too hot for anything like that.
