i just got here to the islands half a year ago and havent been on the big island yet.
wow great pictures! kinda scary too huh

according to the program I watched, they said that it will cause a new added land or island to form

yeah... ultimately... some of the islands used to be part of a larger island that the sea came in and separated (simplistic explanation, its more complicated than that) maui will be two islands one day... and the ocean ekes away at all a them... the further north you go the smaller the islands.

its all so very interesting.

once you get here... are actually on the islands... you realise they are really pretty big... and after all the above water part of an island is just like the tip of an iceberg... well not 'just' but alot like... in that most of it is under the water.

Hawaii is one of the places on my "when I get rich" counties to visit..hoola girls

yeah... i thot it would be expensive too... and i am sure it is for you if youre in the UK... or are you in Australia? i forget... an aussie ticket would be way cheap.

but there are cut rate deals...airfares... offseason... and you can hook up with a friend... or find a month rental thats fairly cheap 800 american dollars and stay for a month...

oh and there really is no offseason in hawaii from our point of view...its always beautiful. its just based on when most people cant get away from work.

the hawaiian newspapers are online... you can peruse the classifieds... some of the islands may even have hostels or similar accommodations...

in america if youre on state benefits it doesnt do you too much good to over-work because they take it away.

however... there is an amazing job that most folks dont know about... that pays very well.

it is NOT selling... but it has to do with phones... usually. Poll Taking. i did it for an educational television channel via the company that does that kind of marketing... Surveys. i also did a thing where i would get opinions from professionals about their product... like extruding plastics... and in return i gave them a free trade magazine subscription... they love those things those technical geeks also, i interviewed people to be in focus groups... they meet and answer marketing questions and get paid very well.

anyway ... i made 20 to 30 american dollars an hour! its usually hourly rate not piece work.

you look in the yellow pages under marketing then look for survey or opinion polling under that... or call the marketing companies and ask them if they do that.

finally... you either have what it takes to do it or not... but no one knows til they try it... and its surprising who is good at it!! gotta be kinda loose and easy... friendly... sense of humor... creative... honest... and like to chat it up.

so the key words when researching it? surveys, opinion polls, marketing, focus groups

people over here don't like over the phone selling there is a BT block you can put onI don't even like 'em coming to the front door

I dropped the proverbial goolie I phoned my ISP and the lady said have you tried disconnecting/connecting your router as it will fine err! another routethen memory clicked inmy old adsl modem did it often, this router has only done it once, so I'd forgot


I'm sorry if my last post was confusing, I didn't mean selling as such,we have those sort of things, but they were getting more and more that people were saying that they wanted it stopping, so BT have some sort of block you can have, basically it's the same as the complaints about the amount of junk mail we get via the letterbox(mailbox)

our letterboxes are in the front door, where you have a postbox outside on the path I think in America

PS: I was off the net all Saturday - phoned ISP etc
