Hey! What about Zork!?!?!?!
Afgncaap5 Started conversation Jan 7, 2000
Okay, you might call me old fashioned where my computer game expertise lies, but the old Infocom games, and even some of the newer text-based games are among the best ever! Especially Zork! As you can see, I'm a fanatic, so why aren't there reviews, or downloads, of Infocom games, or something. (The first three Zork games are now freeware. I recommend adding them.) You may also be interested to know that DNA wrote two games for Infocom (The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy, and Beaureaucracy. Have fun locating them. They're getting rather scarce.

Cheers for taken the time to draw this to my attention, it is a greatly neglected part of my page.

Hey, I'll review the entire Zork series if you need help. I've played all 13 Zork games! If you need any help tracking down Infocom games (which I believe I have played all of them) I can help. Just ask.

You can review them if you want as i imagine it'll take me a while to play them.
I'll try and track them down and tell you what happens.

found all 3 of the first ones, and a demo of the 4th so I'll get busy playing them now

A demo of the fourth? Wait, you mean Zork: The Undiscovered Underground, don't you? That isn't the fourth. That's the twelfth. It's still a good ame, and I consider it an original, even though it isn't produced by Activision. So, is it really ZTUU, or is it actually a demo of Enchanter? Well, so where should I write the reviews for Zork? As a Guide Entry?

No its not ZTUU but The Return To Zork by infocom, I've started playing the first game last night.
As for the reviews if you do them as guide entries just give me the url of them and I'll link to it, or you can use my email address on the frontpage, mail them to me and I'll make them into guide entries, its up to you!

Okay, hope you enjoy Zork. I'll start writing them now. BTW, Return To Zork is the tenth. Have fun! BTW, I know where you can download ZTUU. It's freeware as are the first three. Interested?

He he he. I see you're hooked already. In the end, the whole world will! BuAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, you can go to my user page, and I have two links to two of my favorite Zork sites. For the download, go to the Infocom web page. Also, my link to The Zork Library may take a while to find the Message Board where I hang out at, but while trying to find the message board (Look at the top of every screen you go to until you find the 'other features' section) , post a message, say hello to the gang, etc. Anyway, you may have to use the Z-Machine to use ZTUU, but if you do, I'll tell you where to get one. Have fun becoming addicted! I sure did!

Okay, I just wrote an entry on Zork in general (I'm going to start writing the reviews any time now), I remembered that I wrote a review for an older game called "Rastan", and I found an entry on Infocom, the country that first started selling Zork.

Look 'em over, and tell me what you think. If you like the two I wrote, you can put 'em on. I don't know what the author of the Infocom article thinks about it, though.

Okay, I just wrote a review for the Mainframe Zork. This is the original Zork, before the trilogy that you're playing. There are several versions of the game, but I think I covered the gist of it. I guess there are actually fourteen Zork games, but I don't usually count this one, as it is pretty much the trilogy you have mixed together (with one or two surprises you can't get elsewhere) and it's confusing to really believe that both versions are the real one.
Anyway, the review for Dungeon (it was called Dungeon for a while) is at http://www.h2g2.com/A245341. Enjoy!

Okay, that's nice. As soon as I feel like it, I'll write a review for the Zork trilogy. Then Enchanter. Then Sorcerer. Then . . .
