Thanks for the buzz Teaserman, but how are you choosing who to buzz? I've only been around a few weeks.

Right now I'm Buzzing people with interesting names, homepages, and/or reputations. I thought the name Fluff McFluffy was quite unusual. Also, you happened to be online at the time, so I buzzed you.

You like my name? I'm flattered Teaserman. How do you know when someone is on line with you?

Did you see the "Who's on H2G2?" link on my page? Click on it and a window should pop up showing exactly who is online at that moment. Lots of people have similar links on their pages.

Bluebottle? the doughnuts, it's guy? I like him. How's the quest going? Obviously I could go look for myself, but I felt asking is more polite.
Who are you Teaserman? Or is that information secret? - Will I have to wait for the interview to come out first?
Buzzzzzzzzz
Teaserman the Discontinuous Posted Mar 1, 2000
1)That's the one. There goes Bluebottle now.
2)The quest is going well, I supose. Slowly but surely.
3)I could tell you who I am, but then I'd have to stop buzzing people. That's part of my...charm. When I started my quest I asked people to attempt to figure out who I am based on some clues I have left behind on my travels. But I don't think anyone will ever be able to figure it out because (Here's a new CLUE for anyone still trying) I began this quest to establish a place as one of the prominent figures on H2G2. I wanted to be well known. I removed the "try to figure out who I am" from my page to discourage any hopeless attempts to figure it out. Actually, with a little common sense, it wouldn't be very hard. I put myself in the place of someone trying to figure it out the other day and found very strong clues to my identity.
4)As for the interview, you've already missed it. Sorry. Ask Monsy about it, maybe he has a copy he could let you look at. It may help anyone trying to figure out who I am.

The Interview:
One-to-One
Yes, I bet that was quite an experience for…Oh, I’m sorry readers, I did not see you standing there. I was just sitting here having an enjoyable chat with one of our local researchers. My friend, here, is quite the conversationalist. Perhaps you would like me to have my dear friend begin at the beginning, so that you
may all hear the tale? But, before we do that, let me introduce you all properly; researchers, this is the
infamous Teaserman... Teaserman, these are the researchers. Now, if you could be so kind as to begin
from the beginning, I am sure everyone here would be quite interested in hearing a bit about you and your
adventures through the forums. Well Monsy, it started when I was a small child... for the most part
I led a rather normal, one might say ordinary, childhood. My mother and father were happily married, though that is
not to say they didn’t have their fair share of arguments. I grew up in a small town with two brothers, one older and
one younger than myself. Being the middle child, I often found myself either too young or too old for the
games my brothers enjoyed. As for friends of my own, I did not have many, so I had to make do with
entertaining myself for the most part. This was
not entirely bad,
though, as it helped to
nurture my imagination,
which would come in
handy later on in life.
At the age of 14 my
father passed away,
leaving me to find
someone, or something
else, to serve as a role
model. When I
discovered h2g2 and its
kind residents, it
seemed to fill that void
for me. This is
somewhere I feel I can
come to and not have
to worry about whether
or not I am accepted;
everyone here accepts
everyone else for who
they are, and do not
take it upon themselves
to judge anyone.
After being here for a
time, I noticed that the
lovely Peta was looking
for volunteers for a new
group now known as
the Aces. While looking
for researchers to give
freely of their time in
helping to make new
researchers feel
welcome, she had a
sort of contest going to
find a name for this new
group. One of the
names on the ballot was
Teasers, I liked the idea
(and this name in
particular) so much that
I adopted it and began
my quest.
What quest is that you
may ask? (As if any of
you don’t know by
now.) That quest was,
and still is, to buzz
every forum in h2g2 at
least once. This has
been a difficult task but
I find myself enjoying it
a great deal.
So far the only negative
response I have had
was due to my own
over excitement, I was
greeted by an Ace and
decided to begin my
quest by buzzing every
one of his
conversations. This did
not work out as
well as I had hoped, and I
decided it best that I rethink
my strategy a bit. This is
how I came to decide on
only buzzing one
conversation in every forum.
I also thought this to be a
wise move on my part, as
there are thousands of
people out there that know
an awful lot more about
computers than I do. I did
not want to find myself in
some nasty situation as a
result of irritating one of
them. Since then, I have
found the researchers to be
quite receptive to me, which
is good as I do not wish to
upset any of them, only
make them smile.
I did find myself puffing up
with pride a bit the other day
when I stopped by Peta’s
page for a quick buzz and
noticed that my reputation
had proceeded me. Upon
arriving at Peta’s page I
found that JimiX had been
there a few moments before!
He had left my introduction
from my homepage copied
and pasted onto a new
discussion titled “Check out
this crazy researcher!” I
guess this means that you all
like me, you really like me!!
I am sure there are some of
you out there that might
suggest I am “mad” for
attempting this, but I am
always reminded of the tale
about a man determined and
a town who said “It couldn’t
be done”. Like this man, I
too will not say so until I’ve
tried.
I have been asked by more
than a few people about my
plans once my “mission to
buzz” is complete, and to
this I respond by telling them
I have a list of 3 things which
I will definitely do…
1.See a psychiatrist
2.Wait a few days
3.Buzz the hundreds of
new forums that were
created while I was
having my head
shrunk by a pro
Hmmmmm…I might also
think about one day, maybe,
getting an actual social life.
Well, there you have it “in a
nutshell” so to speak.
Thank-you for indulging me
in my mission, and I hope to
see you in the forums soon .
Why thank-you, Teaserman.
I am sure that everyone will
be looking forwards to a
visit from you real soon and,
until we speak
again…Happy Buzzing!

Thanks for the copy of the interview Bluebottle, although I find it hard to believe anything is pronounced deaded let alone officially.
Teaserman, You man of mystery! I love puzzles, where have you left clues to your identity? How can I find them? What are the chances of me finding out who you are anyway, even if I do find all the clues. I only know around about twelve people with internet access and I don't think your an of them. Are you a famous celebrity? (Are you off 'Neighbours'? Coz I'd understand if you wanted to keep that under you hat.)
O.K - O.K. enough stupid questions. But I can't think of anything else to ask you if you can't tell me about yourself. I'm going to have to go for the best chat up line I ever heard in a movie as a last desperate attempt to converse. Here goes;
'Hey there, do you like tinned pineapple?'

Teaserman the Discontinuous Posted Mar 9, 2000
3)No, not really.
2)I am not a famous celebrity(or I'm just saying that to throw you off). I don't think many of the clues would help very much if you did find them. I've changed my other user name since then, but you may be able to figure out what my name was. You could go through all the conversations I've buzzed and pick them out, but that would take a long time. Maybe if you did a search on "Teaserman" and "Clue" you might find something.
1)I don't quite understand that first statement, Fluff.
deaded
Fluff McFluffy a.k.a Fluffy the Vampire Slayer Posted Mar 13, 2000
bluebottle was called (it's pronounced deaded) when I wrote that reply, at the moment he appears to be called (who left a sock at someone's house this morning), but I expect he won't be by the time anyone reads this; I will look a fool once more! typisch.
I'm not very good at using this (or any) search engine, I tried to find an article about bagpuss being a false idol and I could remeber what it was called. I can't find it anywhere, but I know I glanced at it whilst searching for summut else.

Having read your interview carefully, I have found no spellings I don't recognise and no random colloquialisms. But, I have decided you are an american, can you guess where I am from? See if you're as inaccurate as I probably am!
You are not the only (inernational) man of mystery round here ya know!

ROFLMAO!!!! LOL!! ok, i am sorry, maybe it is nothing to be that tickled about but when i wandered in and found the interview posted and all this about who Teaserman is it just tickled me...not in a mean bad way but in a good bubbly way ......
1) that MY interview with teaserman was here and
2) that teaserman is still at it and it seems that the mystery is just as great as it was in the beginning
i must say though that i am still curious as to who exactly teaserman is....even though i did the interview i could not figure it out, of course i did not try very hard to do so as half the fun of life is the unknown

Erm, I knew that. Really. Monsy sounds like a masculine name unless it's short for something or a nickname. Sorry Ms/Mrs Monsy.
In response to Ms. McFluffy, you are an "18 year old female studying Art, German and Design A-Level at King Alfred's School Sixth form in Wantage Oxford (U.K)". You live in Grove, Oxfordshire.

msmonsy Posted Mar 15, 2000
well Monsy started out as Sharil (my name) then went to Monshari in school and beyond until someone who will remain unnamed (VEGIMAN!!!!) changed it to Monsy for me...he started calling me Monsy and before i knew it my husband, kids, friends and so on decided it was my new name so here i am...a female with a real name that is really an arabic spelling for a malaysian (sp?) male who now has a masculine nickname..... *sigh* guess i better just hang my head and admit it...6' tall females are just not thought of as dainty
