Hello, let me introduce myself...I am currently the sole living member of The Ethereal Monastic Order of Hypnogogic Electro-Monks. We are a schism of the Holy Lunching Friars of Voondoon1 that has headquartered ourself on Earth. While we openly accept all beings of this planet, other planets, and beings of this plane in general to apply for membership, the whole application process at this moment is tricky. Due to our bylaws, there can only be one quadra-d planar member of The Order at any one-dimensional time point. However, an infinite number of aplanar (i.e., those of higher dimensions or those departed from this dimensional set) members is not only allowed, it is required--per regulations. According to Hyperluncheonal mathematics, a number of aplanar beings, when recorded on a planar membership roster, account for an inverse number of planar members. That is, if an organization has 10 aplanar members, they count as 1/10th of a regular planar member. 100 aplanars count as 1/100th of a given planar member. Thus, by The Order's bylaws, an infinite number of aplanar members is required so that 1 divided by infinity is practically zero, allowing the sole planar member to remain as such and stay in line with the bylaws.
Hyperluncheonal mathematics, based on ancient Friar thought, is a load of bunk. Or so I and the other infinite aplanar members think. This, along with some nasty arguements about proper lunch attire, led to our Order's schism with the Holy Lunching Friars. We are still entangled in a mess of herasy and dogma, but, once we figure the math out and finally sit down to a proper lunch, we will update you on our recruiting status.
