What is ICQ exactly, something like IRC (Internet Relay Chat)?

I use mIRC occasionally, but it's not really to my liking. I do like the internet as a medium to spread ideas. In a world of 6 billion people it seems a good way of trying to connecting everyones ideas, theories, and concerns. The collective thought of all humanity is scattered in these 6 billion individual brains. I always ponder how to reach out and try to understand how everyone else is seing this world. The perspective I see is often different from someone else.

And, boy, let me tell you the perspective they have here in South Florida is REALLY different, be very careful not to say anything nice about Castro or Cuba, emotion absolutely clouds their reason to the point of being rediculous. They have no sense of humour whatsoever. While Castro may not be the perfect example of Democracy in action, at the same time he is not the incarnation of Satan that Senator Helms wants the Americans to believe he is.

Also I know how good stories are made. The third world countries tend to admire Castro somewhat, remember the story of David and Goliath? It's not what the truth is that is important. I know human nature, history will record Catro as the leader of a small nation that stood up to a tyranical Goliath, simply because it makes a good story.

What do you think of all day up there in the Northern Saskatchewan Temperate Zone ? Treck into the grand cosmopolitan centre of Regina for a good time occasionally.

Is it better to fry here in Miami at 95 F or freeze there at -20 C ? Profound questions like these may never be satisfactorly resolved.

ICQ is a chat / file transfer / user notification / message board etc. sort of thing. As a chat setup it's one of the best and has maybe 20,000,000 users ( The UINs (( Universal Identification Numbers )) are into the 40 or 50 million range but alot of people forget something and start new ones ) there is a program to download from http://www.icq.com/ register and in a few minutes you can be up and chatting. I just got home here ( 6 AM , and just started the fire after being away for a month ) the house is at a balmy 5 C but should warm up soon. I've spent most of the last three months working in Calgary ( Ps. it was 17 C there a couple of days back , actually warmer then parts of Florida at the time ) .
