At any rate, here is my miniscule corner of the Megadodo Publications Earth annex, lovingly fumigated once a week by some underpaid biologist-in-training. Let me dust off the chair and move these papers and... there. Please, sit down, let me tell you about myself.
When I was once a youngster like you, I embarked on a terrific journey of self-realization, with hopes of going far across the galaxy.
However, since I was 15, and interstellar travel is, at least on this planet, an almost-unimaginable dream, I didn't get very far.
In spite of this, I was not to be deterred. I drew in a breath, straightened my lapel, and-

(Seriously, the VERY abridged, and slightly-more-believeable version: I first discovered the Guide in my hometown library, and since then, I've been trying - albeit somewhat in vain - to find a complete run of DNA's works and different editions of the Guide. Somewhere along the way, I joined the Navy, saw most of the world, met my future wife, and developed a slight belly. Time is truly a killer.
