I'm sorry, I just felt like moaning about the unjustness of life!! It is Sods law that all the seemingly perfect guys are either attatched or gay.
How has your day been? Did I already ask that? I don't think I did. You can tell I am half asleep today can't you?!
This may sound weird but have been tryng to search the internet for something and I can't find the answer so I was wondering if you knew. Are there any Catholic churches in Ryde, Sandown or the places in between? Has to be Catholic, none of that half arsed "we want God but not the strictness" places (by that I mean C of E!!).
Kate.

Hiya,
Yep, there's a Catholic Church in Sandown, yuo can see a photo of it I quickly found here:
[Broken link removed by Moderator]
(Okay, not the best photo of it, but not bad considering) It's near the swimming pool, the one with the weird spire, you can't miss it. Whether there are catholic churches in Ryde or anywhere else I don't know, I live in Sandown so I only know Sandown - but there is a Catholic school on the Island - ABK (Arch Bishop King) in Newport.
My day today has been extremely uneventful - I'm currently concerned about the state of the railways as it's Sarah, my girlfriend's, 21st birthday soon, but I can't seem to be able to go up to see her .
It's funny you should say that about perfect guys being attached etc though, none of my male friends have girlfriends and they say the asme thing about girls.
Hope that helps,
Matt

Thank you very much. You may wonder why I need to know. It is because I will be in Ryde on the First Sunday Of Advent and I don't know where the church is!! I found All Saints on a Ryde web site but it didn't say which denomination it was. I'll have to catch the train to Sandown on Sunday morning I guess.
I hope you make it to see your girlfriend, it would be such a shame if the weather stopped trains. Is she at university somewhere else then? Sorry, I'm being nosey...!!!
Is there a list of the new smilies anywhere because I havn't seen them...
Kate.

Hiya,
Don't worry - feel free to be nosy! But yes, Sarah is at a different university - she's living in Stoke, but Virgin Trains seem to have stopped services to there.
So, do you know which Church I mean? If you were in Sandown and went anywhere near it, you can't miss it. And it's the only churchj in Sandown with a spire like that, so it's easy enough to find. Just get off the train at Sandown, get to the Broadway and walk along till you get to The Heights, you can't miss it. Sorry I don't know about Ryde.
And yes, there's a list of the new smilies here:

but be warned, the page takes several lifetimes to load up

That smiley page loaded instantly, it took me 10 minites to get back to my home page again!!! I like the devil one. Let me see if this works...

I can get to Reading using South-West trains, but from there on I need to travel by Virgin Cross-Country, and they're not operating. Well, I hope they will tomorrow, otherwise I'm stuck.
So, what do you think of the new smileys? Quite a lot, aren't there

You could go by road. There must be a coach or something. However you manage it, I hope you get there!
We had our rememberance survise this morning in school because there is this whole tradition and "we know what it was like to loose people in war" mentality in all the heads becasue there is a list of about 70 kids from our school that died in the wars. We have to stand and listen to them read the names. It is really quite sad.

I've just bought a rail ticket - apparently, trains should be running today, but it's not guarunteed. Oh well, I'll just have to see what happens!
So, do you know of anyone who knew the people who died in the war? Is it the First or Second World War that they died in? In my school there was a plaque with the names of the people who died in the war, but as none of the teachers know who they were, it sadly gets ignored and forgotten.

Hi, I hope you had a good weekend. Did you make it up north?
My weekend was ok, I went to work and took Sunday off but I will probubly get fired because of it, I didn't give them any warning. I just didn't turn up. But to be honest, I want to get fired because I want another job. I hate mine. How is McDonalds going?
I had the house to myself because my family went awway for the weekend. They are going away again next weekend but I won't be around to enjoy the peace because there is a party to go to on Saturday. At least they wont be around to see me stagger home hungover the next morning!!!
I came into school for no reason today because I have ps 'till 10:30 and then my English lesson is cancelled so I have ps again 'till 11:40. My English class isn't coming in untill midday and I only just remembered I don't have to when I got here. Doh! I could have had a lie in, wjich I could do with because I was up 'till God knows what hour watching TV!
I'll stop chatting on now, speak to you later,
Kate.

Hiya
I made it up to Stoke on Monday, which considering I had planned to go on Friday, wasn't the best of trips. Alas, still problems with the railways. But eventually I arrived there, celebrated Sarah's 21st, and somehow managed to come back down to Southampton, and I sure am tired today.
Just got to catch up on History work,
Matt

I'm glad you got there in the end, better late than never!!
Catching up with work is the worst thing about having time off. Why is it people always seem to do much more work when your away, just so you'll have loads to catch up on. Do you find that? I know it happens to me.
I got the little card thing from UCAS yesturday to say they had my form and they are sending it off to universities now. For some reason I am quite nervouse, I suppose because I am paranoid that I won't get any acceptances!
Oh, you'll never guess what I did on Tuesday. I signed up to give blood!! I am terrified of needles almost to the point of it being a phobia, but I am trying to think of the good it will do and it won't be so bad after the first couple of times. Maybe it will even cure my fear... !! Have you ever given blood?
Kate.

Yes, the story finally had a happy ending Even if it did mean that a normal 4 hour train journey took 7 hours .
But yes, it always seems to be that you miss either the Vital bit in the course, or about 5 times as much work as you'd normally expect... I don't know why that is - you're never off when the lecturer calls off ill.
I hope you'll do okay with the UCAS form - don't worry about it - most unis seem easy going about it, so you should be accepted. As for me giving blood - I must admit I never have. My Mum and Dad tried to give blood when I was younger, and after being given some tests, they were told that their blood was "unsuitable" - whatever that means. I guess I could have mine tested, but if my parents' blood is unsuitable, chances are mine is too? Or not? I'm not really sure how it works out. To be honest, I've never thought about it. I support the RNLI, though.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Matt

Their blood could have been unsuitable for a couple of reasons, maybe they were carreirs of something? Particularly your mum because females tend to be carriers while males are sufferers. It is all genetics. Haeamophilia is commonly carried on females genes, as are lots of things I can't remember the name of. If you couldn't tell we did about this recently in biology! Males are often carriers of diseases that aren't sex linked, because if they are sex linked the male ALWAYS suffers. I could go into the complecated genetics of how and why but I won't bore you!
Obviously they probubly aren't, or the doctors would have said. I am just saying that is the first thing that springs to mind for why blood could be unsuitable. Chances are that if is is a genetic thing then you and your siblings would have very high chance of having the same, but recessive genes are more common then people realise, you could have inherited your grandparents or even great-grandparents blood group. I won't bore you with the complecated genetics of that either, unless you really are interessted!
On that cheerful note (!) I will shut up and let you get a word in edgeways!!

Hiya Kate,
I just remembered, it was only my Mum who was told that her blood was unsuitable, but thanks for telling me about it! I don't really know why she wasn't allowed to be a donor anymore, I know she did give blood when she did donate blood when she was younger, but now she isn't wanted to. Oh well.
So, what've you been up to today?

Sorry about the lecture but I felt like testing what I could remember by writing about it!!
How was your weekend? Catching up on the work I hope. I had a weird weekend, I went to a party on Saturday night but I can't decide whether it was good or bad. It was pretty unaventful! I was gutted when I found out I missed a programme last night about Queen and Roger Taylor was on!! I am so annoyed with myself. But I didn't know it was on.
On the other hand, I did get a couple of videos and albums that I have wanted for ages. I got The World Is Not Enough and From Russia With Love. I love Bond movies. And I got one of Roger Taylor's solo albums (Fun In Space) and David Bowies Greatest Hits (I finally found it!!). That has put me in a good mood.
I'll shut up about my weekned, tell me about yours.
Kate.

Hiya,
Don't worry about "the lecture" - I often do the same thing, bore people by telling them about things I remember from school just to remind myself about it and know that I do know.
My weekend was okay. Saturday I spend doing absolutely nothing, pretty much - a very lazy day. On Sunday I went to teh Island for a day to visit my Dad, step-mum and half-sister Rhiannon, although my sister Rebekah later came to visit Dad. I meant to catch the 11:30 ferry when, after I got on it (it was the Red Jet 3), it turned round, and promptly broke down. So we all had to get off, and catch the 12 o'clock ferry instead. It was a good day yesterday, but now I'm busy doing more work.
I'm glad you found your David Bowie CD
