Um, hello.
Because of the fact that everyone in their right mind craves (or should crave) useful knowledge, and not neatly packaged factoids, as are provided by the mainstream media and encyclopedia business, such as, "Democracy is the ideal system of government," - hee hee - I have decided to tell it like it is, and this seems to be a good platform to do so. Of course, the fact the my only audience will be sarcastic computer jockeys doesn't deter me - I like to stick with my crowd.
I shall begin with what I know best - the beautiful state of California.
This strange land, or at least the southern half, is in a continual state of delicately-supported semi-insanity. It is always extrememly close to going completely insane, and keeps closing the gap, but can never quite get there - like the state of Europe right before World War I. Of course, Europe eventually got there.
Somehow, pimps have become the biggest role models to teenagers. I don't believe that happened in Europe - but I could be wrong.
More about me.
I am a huge fan of Calvin and Hobbes, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Vonnegut, Charlie Parker, Zippy, Ben Folds, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, George Orwell, Star Wars, Queen, artsy satirical movies, and the following quotes.
"Some people are pragmatists, taking things as they come and making the best of the choices available. Some people are idealists, standing for principle and refusing to compromise. And some people just act on any whim that enters their heads. I pragmatically turn my whims into principles!" - Calvin, CALVIN AND HOBBES
"Kids in the back seat cause accidents; accidents in the back seat cause kids." - attributed to Emily Krause
"People-who-don't-understand-th'-distinction-between-satire-and-real-life... with the exception of a tiny, hip elite, it encompasses almost th' entire population of our dumbed down country!" - Griffy, ZIPPY
"Their imaginations were flywheels on the ramshackle machinery of the awful truth." - Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS
"I'm yet another resource consuming kid in an overpopulated planet, raised to an alarming extent by Madison Avenue and Hollywood, poised with my cynical and alienated peers to take over the world when you're old and weak!" - Calvin
"To be is to do." - Socrates
"To do is to be." - Jean-Paul Sartre
"Do be do be do." - Frank Sinatra
"Our awareness is all that is alive and maybe sacred in any of us. Everything else about us is dead machinery." - Rabo Karabekian
"One of the principle functions of a friend is to suffer (to a milder and symbolic form) the punishments that we should like, but are unable, to inflict upon our enemies." - Aldous Huxley
"If there's anything more important than my ego around, I want it
caught and shot now." - Zaphod Beeblebrox
