Ale sounds interesting -- I don't usually drink, but in this case, a nice friendly glass ...
Nice to meet you, Bassman! May I assume it indicates you like things finny?

Oops, I really should read people's pages before making any sort of assumptions whatsoever!

I'll take that as a typo and assumed you meant "funny"
I only ever went fishing once, sat around all day getting bored to tears, got sun burn from hell (it wasn't even sunny - go figure) and didn't catch a thing That said I might have been 7 or 8 at the time, it obviously left a lasting impression on me

Well, you're one up on me, I don't think I've ever been fishing!
Now, hitting the clubs and following various bands, that I've done.

I don't get a chance to follow local bands as I'm always out there doing it myself, although if I do have a night off, there are one or two that I will always turn out for.
We went through a phase a while back where all the other local bands - or one in particular, now defunct - used to come along to see us, just to pinch our songs. Not only that, they pinched our ideas on promotional literature as well.
Can't quite remember how the phrase goes - something about something being the sincerest form of flattery - you know the one.

(Sorry I dropped out a while back, there... )
Flattery may be nice, but let 'em figure out how to get their own gigs!
Saw your picture in Az's photo gallery...great band shot!

Funny - it turns out that another local band has been coming along, asking our guitarist how the light rig works at one gig, how the smoke machine works the next, bit and pieces, how do we do the web page. Next thing we've got our own tribute band, playing all our songs under an amazingly similar light rig, working in an amazingly similar fashion, with an amazingly similar web site. Their site also include "Quotes" from venue owners saying how great they are and that they're as good as us in a year and we've been going for 20!!
Dream on!!
I've got to go and check them out, just to see what they're like for myself. It would be unfair to post on what the drummer said when he saw them. I'll keep you posted....
