I enjoyed reading that. Very free verse but with rhyme, I liked it. I'm curious about Mr Nobody and the lemon curd - a personal reference, a flight of fancy or is it something I'm not getting?

I like this too, but what inspired you to write it?

some happy bits
some sad bits
some real bits
mainly because I know what it's like to feel depressed over the death of a loved one, I met someone in the street a few weeks ago whose daughter had tried to commit suicide, and also heard of three people (friends of friends/family) had actually managed it.
The internet can affect different people in different ways, and we don't really know whether we are hurting someone unintentionally with our words or not. Sometimes we say things with the best of intentions but others take it the wrong way.
I thought it was important to have this sort of link available here (even though generally it is a fun place to be) smiley - smiley

I like this. It has a unique rhythm. I too wondered about the lemon curd. It seemed a bit out of context with the rest of the poem.

Even thouth the author has been elvis for a while, am bumping this back into miner radar range to try and get a more appropriate level of response than it got originally.

I'm not sure what I meant about the Lemon Curd either! I'll have to go back and read the poem. smiley - doh

Well I am extremely glad you all liked it. It bears a similarity to the W. H. Auden one. Have you read it?

Evening

Not sure I understand all the comments above. I think this is both clever and original

Ogden Nash (and a whole school) would be proud!

I look forward to seeing you push yourself.

I've only just seen this and I found it poignant. smiley - smiley
It hints at so many stories, some sad, some trivial. I think the rhymes and the rhythm work, although the rhythm isn't completely regular.

It was poignant. PW was extremely depressed at the time.
I often used rhymes and rhythms because I am a musician. smiley - musicalnote
Music and rhythm is well known for healing people.
My music is like my poetry. If you want to read some more of my stuff you may go to:

U3173112 there's a piece of music to go with that one which I am hoping to get on YouTube just as soon as I have worked out how to get it there. Have a nice day! smiley - ok
