My first contribution to the Alternative Writing Workshop.
This was written for the March Create challenge "In like a lion, out like a lamb", and based on true, real-life events.

I enjoyed this Superfrenchie! Although it made me extremely jealous; as most of my working life in the United States I had a hour and a half commute in both directions on usually 3 forms of public transport. And since I always left inordinately early I usually arrived well before my coworkers. Aside from transport strikes that happened every couple of years, it worked out OK.
It certainly cuts down on possible lateness excuses though.

Being able to stay in bed without being jumped on by children day in, day out at 5am sounds like a luxury!
Longest commute I had was an hour by sea, with a ferry every hour and a half (except after they crashed the ferry they were supposed to be docking, when it became one ferry every 3 hours as the other one had to go for repair).
Although when I was commuting by bus in Leeds the journey was up to an hour and a half by , or 15 minutes' cycling.
