Hi, bit of advice needed here folks....re. listing of generic drugs as indicated by DrMatt. I'm not sure where to put the list or would it be better to put the generic name in brackets alongside the sub headers for each explanantion of the medicines?
I did do a bulleted list before and after the medicines section, just felt it did'nt look right.
(those who know me know I can have these thick moments, I blame me meds!)
As for the idiosyncratic punctuation and phrasing.......I'll again await further advice/comment!!
*Wonder if I can get treatment for that?*
Regards

Hi Straighttalker, nice entry
You have used capitals for heart, heart attack and heart disease in various places but these are not proper nouns so don't need to be capitalised. I think the same is true for angina.

Most common cause's should be most common cause.
And yes, I think the natural place for each drug would be by the sub-heading, Beta Blockers (e.g./such as/ metoprolol).

I was asked today what 'Unstable Angina' meant!! As a result, I have put a brief explanation in the description at start of article defining unstable angina.

Under 'Nitrates you give the example of 'isosorbide mononitrate' in brackets. However, the text doesn't mention this at all. Perhaps the ISM should be replaced with GTN - (especially as GTNB is the one most people asre familiar with?

Hi,
I like the way you've done the drugs now, ST. Just one little quibble - wouldn't it be better to have the e.g. and brackets in straight script so that the drug name is more properly in italics?

Cardio-vascular disease effects arteries throughout the body > affects
This sentence is confusing:
'There is a misconception that the heart gets it's oxygen from the blood within the heart when in actual fact it gets the oxygen from blood flow to the heart and coronary arteries from the outside'.
Suggest something like: There is a common misconception that the heart gets it's oxygen from the blood within the heart when in actual fact heart muscle receives its own supply. Thus blood leaving the heart is pumped by the left venticle into the ascending aorta, thence to the rght and left coronary arteries which supply the heart muscle itself. This is called the 'coronary circulation'.

'ldl cholesterol which is the bad cholesterol...
This needs explaining, perhaps in a footnote. LDL means 'low density lipoprotein' (as opposed to the other form, HDL = high density lipoprotein'. As far as I'm aware, these initials are usually written in upper case
