After reading this article again I realised that it has quite a negative undertone, so on a positive note I would just like to say that on that day (21/12/2012) over 153,000 people will NOT be effected.

Love it. My take on it was that it was tongue in cheek rather than actually negative.

Now is it best to re-align the raised beds with the equator, or simply plant in squint rows?

Good idea LL, but there is some talk about the earth’s axis moving this year, and in its current spherical form the equator could end up anywhere. So before I put on my wellington boots and manually rotate a few tons of raised beds, I want some guarantees!!!
