Has Mrs Grasshopper forgotten her family altogether? If so, are we supposed to think she's heartless, or say " Oh well, she's only a grasshopper."

This is what comes of writing good, imaginative pieces from the pov of an insect. You just don't know how anthromorphic you can get away with being!

That's interesting. I took the story a completely different way. I saw a person who was talking in metaphorical terms about a personal problem.

It's suggestive, anyway.

Or maybe not.

I kinda like you, Mrs Grasshopper. I like your mystery. You make me think. I get a bit spooked by nature sometimes. Seems like its all feeding and breeding and instincts and there are no cinemas or popcorn. . I am happy to be human, even though I know I am nature also. Do you fancy a movie sometime, Mrs Grasshopper? We can have popcorn. I'll buy. No?


And I love the tiny story. Just a few lines. And yet complete.

Many, many years ago I read a book of Short, Short Science Fiction Stories. My favourite was called 'Sign at the End of The Universe' the story read 'This end up' It made me laugh.

I think I need a new challenge, Harlan Ellison has a lot to answer for...
