First time in here. Its clearly not Guide material, but whether it belongs anywhere else in anyones guess.
I may (or may not) have been one of the mini occupants.

err - _is_ anyone's guess. (That'll teach me not to click Preview).

What a brilliant piece of writing
Sorry it took a little while for you to get comments.
I really like the style of this - the way you move from one to the other, building up suspense. It just shows that when well written, even a one second event can make a good story.
Of course, if the Bentley had hit the Mini, there would have been little bits of Mini and occupants over the road, while the Bentley would have had a dent - those things are made of recycled tanks. But that's beside the point.
I'll look forward to seeing more of your work.

Oh heck!!! Sorry you didn't have comments for this earlier! I did actually read it as soon as you put it in the AWW but then forgot to say anything
I loved this piece, the way you created drama from small detail. I'd be delighted to see more entries from you

Thankyou Sprout and Kat. I must admit that I was _slightly_ worried about lack of replies, and wondered whether I'd totally mis-judged the AWW.
Glad you liked it. It just kind of came out that way. I've written some right rubbish which I've deliberated over for weeks, but this was 5 minutes, in one sitting.
I'll regret saying that now. Who'd like to be the first person to say "...'5 minutes in one sitting' - you can tell".

Neat piece of writing, I enjoyed reading it. I like the parallels, the slowing time and you that haven't overplayed the story.
A small nitpic; the parallels don't need to picking out in bold, I don't think. They're clear enough in the writing. Until I'd got into it enough to realise what the bold font was for it was a little distracting.
Thanks for posting and welcome to the AWW , it's a little quiet in here just now, it's the time of year perhaps.

Really? Because the words 'cheesecake' and 'tortoise' spring to my mind and I don't know why
Oh well, congratulations Paff.
Y'know with this, you're not going to be "Just Paff", you'll be UG Contributor Paff
