Okay. You are going to say: This is not a poem.
It is not even good verse.
Sorry. I admire Kenneth Koch and people like that, I do, and I think this stuff is a poem, too.
It may not be a very good one...
It came about because of frustration at my own inadequacy in explaining what I do and do not like in poems about other animals, reckoning myself hopefully among them...
I would consider it an honour to be reckoned among them...
Anyway, trying to explain what I believe is the interdependedness of it all without the projection of myself onto another creature...oh, brother, I give up.
Just read the poem, or whatever it is, and take it for what Elektra calls a half-fast apology.
And fuss, if you like, and we'll talk about biological exuberance and somebody can say free will, and...
(Blame the weather, y'all. It's going to be 70 over here tomorrow. I've got the window open, and y'all are playin' in the snow.
